Would Simeon Blair be a good fit for us at DB?

I don't really think DB is really a fit position. Either you can cover or you can't. I would take all of the DBs I could, but they would have to be good enough to contribute.

Hopefully we’ll get Cypress on Campus right after the end of the dead period and land him. Him not committing to Florida State after visiting there for 3 days and apparently wanting to visit LSU before he makes a decision is a very good sign to me. Then land a top safety like Jalen Catalon or Ja’Had Carter and that rounds out for secondary for this season.
CB1 Harris
CB2 Cypress
CB3 Alexander
Nickel/Safety Brooks
S Burns
S Catalon/Carter
Would be an Elite college secondary

I only asked if he would be a good fit since he is a safety and our need is at cornerback. Cypress certainly would be a better fit with a higher ceiling.

we saw this year, it's easier for a CB to slide over to safety if needed. Converse played some safety and Brooks went from nickel to safety. I'd prefer to take a CB like Cypress at this point. Hopefully the freshman safeties we signed can provide some depth at the position.

I feel like we need a S more than a CB.

Does every DB leave Arkansas? He’s been there for 4 seasons and has literally started all 12 games. The dude was a walk on at one point. Insane!

I'd be surprised if Cypress comes here. Alexander didn't make the jump to LSU to ride the pine and neither is the younger CBs like Welch.

This is one of the worst DB’s I have ever seen. Hog fans are so glad he’s leaving.

That's definitely not true. Some CBs thrive in man to man coverage, while others play much better zone based schemes. You see CBs in the NFL make pro bowls with some teams, enter free agency, sign with another that plays a completely different scheme and completely fall off the map. It happens every year.

He played for southeastern. He could have went to McNeese and it would have been an upgrade. He made a “jump” to an SEC powerhouse. He’ll take what he can get while he’s here.

He had offers from many major universities with starting opportunities. LSU didn't grade him to come in as depth, they graded him as starter in the SEC. Obviously you'd take Cypress because he'd start I just don't see it being a heavy pursue by LSU. S is more important right now but Cypress would be nice.

Yes, I know that. I remember Jason David, but in football now, you almost have to be able to adapt to both because alot of teams will play combo coverages.

There's been several comments about CBs playing safety. Alexander is '6"3...

Pay attention, dumbass. He already has a projection as an NFL Draft pick. Guys get drafted out of FCS every season, so he’s coming here as a guy who’s got the talent to hang in the SEC.

No, watched him all year. The Hogs’ DBs were trash and he might have been the worst one

Second lowest graded Safety on PFF I believe.

You don't want him I promise.
