Would rather spend big NIL money on portal than HS

I’ll get downvoted I’m sure, but at least we have college tape on the kids in the portal.
These HS kids coming in demanding insane NIL from schools and pitting blue bloods in bidding wars all based off HS tape and on3’s opinion makes zero sense.
HS kids should have inherently less value than a better known commodity.
Their only upside is more years of eligibility.

Depends on the player id say. Generally I’d probably go with portal. Just buy who you want off other rosters

Honestly this is probably the way forward. I don’t like the idea of LSU being held hostage by kids who haven’t played a snap.
The only concern with the portal is you have to be willing to spend there, something we’ve not seen BK do yet. Let’s see if that changes this year.

I think BK is willing to spend there, in light of recent events. But I also think we don't have the money to compete in the Portal at a high level. Same thing as last year- we swung and missed on multiple big DT targets (Simeon Barrow, Damonic Williams, Derrick Harmon, etc.). Think we are in a possibly repetitive cycle of disappointment until regulations are placed on NIL.
