I though 155 lbs didn't color you impressed? This is a great pick up. Confusing...but great.

This commit has ZERO effect on AD or RR. Those guys both have a spot no matter what. If LSU runs outta spots, someone may miss out, but it won't be either of these 2.

My prediction comes true!

I honestly think he made his decision when he came to camp from FL...just to hang around with every (he didn't even participate.

My boy is on board!!

Just out of curiosity, where does Wooten sit in the Rivals 250? The Scout 300?

I'm on the crackberry and having trouble viewing

He is right outside the top 250 on Rivals but is a 4 star.

I'll have to check his scout ranking.

ETA: #216 in scout (per my evaluation in the stickied thread)

Confusing is a great word to use here. I don't know their strategy so I can't comment on what they or who they are offerinng

Yep, Debose is going to UM or UF, staff knows this.

Wooten hasn't ever been in the Rivals 250. He has always been just outside the 250 but has always been a 4 star (roughly 300-330 4 stars total).

Debose has a spot if he wants it, no matter what. The staff will make room.

I think we'll take 4 recievers if they all want to come here. This could mean we'll go short at another position. We could be done at RB, CB, LB, or OL. I don't think the staff is counting on Benton either.

I can see this

As always, the best way to asess the contribution of a recruit like this is to compare him to the best. In this case, that would be the gold standard, Roovelroe Swan.
Now, Swan was a five star, not just because of the first name, but the melodious surname as well. Compare Rantavious Wooten and you've got a full five star rating as well.To think we could add Barkevious Mingo to this class and, THAT's special, folks. You can have USC, ND or all the rest, but Les has a class for the ages in the works here...

Pros - Very shifty and very fast in short spaces. Reaches his top end speed in a small amount of time regardless of overall 40. It seems he runs sub 4.5 but thats just on observation. He is the kind of player that you just try to get the ball in his hands then let him make the play. Great for the spread like play calls. "playmaker". When we start putting 5 receivers on the field at times we will need plenty of quality receivers.

Cons - Not Elite top end speed, still very fast though. Needs some work on route running. With his ability to cut inside and out this well be easily tuned up by the coaches. Weight and Blocking are his biggest downfalls.

As for Debose and Randle like others have said, they have a spot regardless. As for Benton we cant count on him until he qualifies. Until then we must assume we dont have him. I am really high on Debose but we cant assume he will commit either. At some point we have to take those talented players we know we can get. C. Michael also comes to mind.
