Who will be their QB? They need a polished stud to run Kiffin offense.

He had one drive against UGA. UGA had zero video on him

He also is a lefty pitcher for baseball. He can throw, just don't know how good he is.

Old Miss will likely have the top rated NIL class again this year. What does that mean on the field? We shall see.

I don't think video on him really matters if he's in for just one drive and just sits in the pocket and throws a few passes.
But.....if he had started several games already, there was video, then he comes in the game and runs a space age, confusing, impossible-to-defend, completely unheard of concept like the zone read that your team had faced before, and your team is LSU, then it's understandable how the defense would be utterly hopeless.

What the hell is Ole Miss doing to destroy the transfer portal every year that LSU apparently can’t do? Is it just money?
Not making it work for them, obviously

All you need to know is that Bo Davis is letting him walk.

It’s Peoples over the DEs. But his opinion is worth close to the same as Bo’s. If he was good with letting Womack walk, then it’s time to move on.

They are losing their 3 year starter at QB in Jaxson Dart. There were quite of few key contributors other than Dart who have ran out of eligibility. DE Princely Umanmielen, DE Jared Ivey are also seniors who will play in the NFL. Ole Miss is losing 34 seniors in all. This isn't including juniors who will probably decide to go to the NFL Draft like DT Walter Nolen & LB Chris Paul Jr.
quote:
Coach Lane Kiffin has made his case to the College Football Playoff selection committee before the final bracket is determined Sunday. As the senior-laden team that had 34 players walk on senior day prepares for bowl game, attention turns to which of the new Rebels could make an impact as a freshman in 2025.

Cunningham comes to Ole Miss at a good time for the Rebels. Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins and Juice Wells, three of Ole Miss' four leading receivers this season, are seniors

Senior cornerback Trey Amos is projected to be an early pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

That's a lot of experience, talent & production to lose all at once. Let's compare that to what FSU lost from their 2023 squad.
quote:
FSU lost 15 starters from its 2023 season, with seven players leaving on both offense and defense, including one special teams player. Nine players from last year's team were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. There are 34 letter winners from 2023 that left the team.
Offensive starters lost include quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Trey Benson, wide receivers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, tight end Jaheim Bell and offensive linemen Casey Roddick and D’Mitri Emmanuel. Defensive players lost include defensive end Jared Verse, defensive tackle Braden Fiske, linebackers Kalen DeLoach, Tatum Bethune and defensive backs Jarrian Jones, Akeem Dent, Renardo Green. The sole special team's starter lost was long snapper James Rosenberry, Jr.

Round 2, Pick No. 64:CB Renardo Green to San Francisco 49ers
Round 3, Pick No. 66:RB Trey Benson to Arizona Cardinals
Round 3, Pick No. 96:CB Jarrian Jones to Jacksonville Jaguars

After being big spenders in the portal previously, FSU had dip into the portal again to rebuild their roster, talent & production on both sides of the ball. Similar type roster rebuild Ole Miss is staring at this offseason.
quote:
Florida State has reportedly made a massive investment in its 2024 roster but that hasn't resulted in success between the lines early this season. According to The Athletic's Bruce Feldman, the Seminoles are paying current members of the football team around $12 million with nearly $2 million being allocated to the four starters across the defensive front (Patrick Payton, Joshua Farmer, Darrell Jackson, Marvin Jones Jr.).
quote:
A similar number was floated around by On3's Pete Nakos in a social media post last week. Nakos noted that The Battle's End - Florida State's NIL Collective - is spending 'roughly' $18 million for all of its efforts this season.

quote:
What does that mean on the field? We shall see.
The chances are high that Ole Miss will suck on the field in 2025 even if they "win" in the portal this offseason.
