Will Jarvis Landry achieve 5 star status?

Recently, he was moved from the #13 WR to #12 on Scout...so he is obviously moving up somewhat in the minds of the talent analysts.
Many people have been wondering this in relation to the other potential 5 stars in the state of LA in 2011's class.
I looked back to 2002 at Scout's and Rivals final WR rankings...it appears that only 7 WRs under 6ft have achieved 5 star status. Percy Harvin was one and including him, all the rest all have one thing in common, sub 4.5 speed. Rivals has only ranked one 5-11 WR as a 5 star, the other was listed as 6ft on Rivals, but 5-11 on Scout.
2010 #8 WR Chris Dunkley 5-11/169/4.43 Florida
2010 #7 WR Trovon Reed 5-11/173/4.49 Auburn
2009 #3 WR Andre Debose 5-11.5/176/4.40 Florida
2009 Juco WR Hayo Carpenter 5-11/175/4.37 Minnesota
2007 #3 WR Deonte Thompson 5-11.5/186/4.28 Florida - Rivals also listed as 5 star, but @ 6ft.
2006 #2 WR Percy Harvin 5-11/182/4.35 Florida
2005 #4 WR DeSean Jackson 5-11/175/4.40 California - Rivals also listed as 5 star @ 5-11.
So if Jarvis Landry is to become a 5 star, he is going to have to be timed below 4.5 40 speed.
There is almost no chance of him being rated a 5 star on Rivals @ WR (possibly ATH), but on Scout he has a great chance if he is timed below 4.5.

I think that he will win over the stargazers with his route-running and athleticism.

Sometimes measurables don't give the full story on players.Whether he's rated a 5 star or not, there's not another wr in the nation I'd rather get. There are workout wonders every year that can't play football.I'd rather have a guy like Landry that I know can play football(and well)and I can see the skills that they bring to the table on the field and not a workout. Some guys can't be measured by size, speed and other measurables. You just have to go on what you see on the field.Landry passes my test and I'm sure there are a lot of others around that see the same things i do.

He looks like a 5 star to me, at least on vid.
If receiving only 3 helps keep the vultures off of him than I'm all for it.

Looking at his video, he's a sure fire 5 star..I really think this guy will be special in college and live up to his billing.

The fact that Reed was a 5 star last year and Landry possibly will not be is a joke, Landry was much better last year as a junior and proved it at the summer camps.

Landry will not get 5 stars from Rivals. He has a chance for 5 from Scout.
IMO

The Reed thing is the primary reason i have a problem with the scouting services making excuses to not give Landry 5 stars.I could care less really but the services should be fair.Landry is widely known to be a better wr prospect than Reed.I maybe could understand if Reed were listed as an athlete but he wasn't.At athlete i could see Reed being a 5 star because of his versatility but at wr he shouldn't have a higher rating than Landry. It's ridiculous if you ask me.

Why do we care if he achieves 5 star status? I'd rather him come in underrated, if anything.

No.
He'll be a 4* on both boards, and probably a Top 100 player on Rivals.

I saw Landry play once. The dude loves to hit and is mean as shite. Both are good attributes, imo.

I was never into Reed being a five star or that he was the best in Louisiana. It was funny that Auburn people thought we would care about not getting him. I like the guys we pulled in much better.

Reed may have been the best senior wide reciever last year but the class was not nearly as talented as this years class. Even last year Landry was always considered the best reciever in the state. Doesn't matter what the services rate him, he's a tiger and that's all that matters.

no chance because he committed to LSU if he committed to bama he would be

Landry=5 star and probably top 5 receiver in the nation next year

I agree with TrojanAce.He will not be a 5 star on Rivals(scout maybe but i doubt it).I understand the reasons that both services will give(speed, size) but i disagree. That said I don't care how many stars he has.As long as he's at LSU, I'm happy. My only complaint is by comparing him to others on the field. There are guys that got 5 stars last year(Scout in particular because they have many more)that Landry is a better prospect than.Rivals is much harder to get that 5th star if you don't have at least one of those 2 attributes. It's the same comparison I make with Hilliard and Ware.If Ware was a 5 star then there's no way that Hilliard isn't.Hilliard is the same kind of back with more experience at the position and better proven inside running skills.Ware has much quicker feet from my view but at worst the rest(balance, power etc)are equal. For all the talents Ware has(i love his potential)he's unproven as a runner that can take that constant pounding that Hilliard is accustomed to.That should count for something.Landry has all the recieving skills he needs to be very successful at the next level. For the guys that question his physical play remember that Rueben Randle had questions about his blocking as well and he is a very good blocking wr already(granted that Landry is a different body type and smaller).Landry will be as well.(already is good enough in my eyes.)Landry underneath with Randle,Boone and Wright outside, C. Tolliver,Fobbs(if hes not at cb)and Sylve burning down the field with speed is a great group and matchup nightmare for teams in the future.I'm already looking forward to it.I just hope that Jefferson is ready to play to his talent his Sr. year.(hopefully this year too).Landry will kill with all those guys to give him space to work.
