4* SDE out of Plaquemine with some good offers from Ole Miss and Miss St. and is getting strong looks from us and Bama

Kid deserves one. He just won MVP of a rivals camp in Houston. They were saying he has awesome hands and was virtually unblock able,

I think we are closely monitoring his academic situation and will see where he is at at the end of this semester.

Yeah fwiw I dont think he does until this summer, but I think he is definitely good enough to have one right now.

I've heard grades could be an issue but he should have them back in order after this year. Maybe they're waiting to see if that is true before they offer so I can see the logic in a summer offer.

The good news, according to Shea, is that Godchaux has been on track with his academic progress since the fall of last yr.
He will probably get his LSU offer soon.

we should offer him and if his academics go south then he doesn't get in this class. otherwise, we are creating a lot of work for ourselves to convine to LSU after he gets 20+ offers. we could have had him with an offer at any point.

I think we should offer him sooner rather than later. I am not one to shout doom and gloom when Bama offers an LA kid but it would make the coaches' job a whole lot easier to lock him up before other schools make headway.

It could also work against us. If we fill that DE spot then that leaves other top tier talent on the outside looking in, they commit elsewhere, and then we are playing catch up with them if DG doesnt make the grades.

thats all part of the game. if we land willis and clark we will be in excellent shape. does anyone know how big DG is and whether he will end up inside at dt.

in the chavis/haley system, I don't see us leaving both GD and GW at DE. both are already close to 260.

I feel sure that Godchaux is a DT at LSU. I know others disagree, but I believe he is strong enough for DT and lacks the explosive first step that we need at DE. He will need to learn to play lower, but he can do that.

Has anyone seen impressive film on Godchaux? The only highlite film I have seen of him was very underwhelming but it was limited action.

I seriously hope so. we need to keep building the foundation of this class and bringing a kid like Godchaux on board after getting the commits of Paris and Upchurch is, IMO, some damn strong momentum.
