Yeah, it's my understanding that UCLA is a beautiful place, surrounded by beautiful people.

USC's in a much rougher neighborhood. At least that's what I've been told/heard.

It's amazing to me that schools like UCLA aren't perennial championship contenders. I mean, if you were a top athlete and could go anywhere, why would you ever choose Blacksburg, South Bend, Tuscaloosa, or Baton Rouge for that matter over Miami or Los Angeles?

While I agree, Los Angeles is no San Diego. LA actually blows.

Same reason 4 and 5 star kids lined up 2 to 3 deep at Southern Cal even though they were on scholly probation, TV probation and couldn't play in a bowl for 3 years.

They just want what they want sometimes.

That's true, and like Fred G. Sanford once explained to Julio's mother who was considering a move from NY to LA: "Our smog is mixed with earthquakes. So when a building falls on you, your last breath won't even be a good one."

Gotta agree, I have lived out there on and off for work for last 4 years, Los Angeles and California for that matter, aint all that. WEIRD people abound, Traffic is a nightmare (God help you if get stuck on the 405) and its ungodly expensive to live. It sells an illusion, like hollywood. I am so happy when i leave and go back to the real world. And Mora will be gone to the NFL very soon. Think hard about it

I think the questionis why they want to play there or any other school and not LSU.

We have a good class as it stands. The extra talent we miss out on is what makes the class not exceptional but almost. We have eight to ten outstanding players in this state. Fournette, Dupre, Robinson, Noil, Willis, Young, Hootie, Sims, Quinn, Washington and Brumfield. Out of those 11 we have 4 committed. There is 1-5star and 3-4star players. 5 are gone elsewhere and the other 2 may not come here at all.

My question is were is the pride in our state University. What are these young players being told about their state school? Seems like most want to go "out of state". What does these out of state schools have that LSU doesn't? Look at the facilities we have. State of the art facilities. So whats the problem?

UCLA has never had a really good coach until now...

Sure he will... Just like he would be gone as soon as the job at Washington opened up... Just like he'll be gone as soon as the big boys come knocking (Texas). Coach Mora has kids in the teens to 20 year old age group and he LIKES making a difference with them. His parents also live in the area and one son attends college in the area. I doubt he would leave for the NFL in the next 4-5 years. He's already been there and done that.

Interesting how you choose to characterize failing miserably.

UCLA is a state school just like LSU. USC is the private school.

I love LSU and my daughter is about to graduate there. However Westwood is an amazing place. Traffic does not matter to a College athlete, everything he could want is right there. The Campus and surroundings are beautiful and it is a better school and WAY harder to be accepted than LSU, and literally costs twice as much. However, it is different and not for everyone.
