Why would our top state players choose Alabama over LSU?

Both schools our top notch choices, so could the media exposure that Saban recieves as the best coach in the world of college football be enough to sway a player to go to our most hated rival, or do you think it is because they just hate our state and just ready for a change? If the latter is the case, why not go to socal or miami? Both have nice climates and pretty girls. Why Alabama? Nothing is there besides Gulf Shores.

Devall doesnt fit LSUs defense as well as he does Bamas. He needs to play LB in a 3-4 defense.

The reasons:
(1) Saban is very charming during his in-home recruiting visits, Many parents love Saban;
(2) Saban has extensive NFL experience and is highly respected by NFL head coaches, as evidenced by the Patriots' regard for his players;
(3) Most importantly, Saban has a reputation for fulfilling players' potential and has successfully developed numerous players into first round draft picks (look at the sheer number of Bama players who will be drafted in the first round between this year's draft and last year's draft). Marquee high school players want some assurance that their talent will translate into an NFL payday. This is often the paramount consideration of not only the players themselves, but their families;
(4) Saban has won three NC's, including two of the last three;
All that being said, it's still ridiculous that we lost the top rated player in our own state...again. (Collins, McKnight, Reed).

Alabama only has commits from 4 of AL's top 10 and LSU has commits from 8 of LA's top 10 and people panic at what we lose from in state.

Does the media hype Saban receives make his recruiting so much easier? I say hell yes! Saban lives and breathes for his job. One has to beleive that there is more to life than football, and our couch knows that. I respect that more over championships, because in the end, he will be rewarded for this. Pride sometimes can be a major downfall.

When it comes to a guy like Collins, he just wants to play at Alabama that badly. I have no honest clue on earth why but he does and there is not a damn thing a coach can do.
The staff had his entire family on board and he still chose Alabama. Less said about the kid the better

Well, our top talent decided on Bama "two years ago" according to his interview. I think his gf being a massive Alabama homer also pushed him that direction. He just didn't have the love for LSU that we do. It's not a bad choice for him. He will be going to a good school with a good program. I just hope he never sniffs a NCG and we do in the next 4 years.
Last year, we got almost all the top instate talent and it looks like we will againt his year minus 2 guys. LA was a little down in the "* rankings" this year, but it still has a lot of talent and we are getting most of that talent. We can't help that LB and OL max out at 4*.

I think Saban is an elite coach, but putting your stock into a person who seems to only care about his job, well, perhaps needs to humbled. What if Miles per say doesn't care about his job as much as the Nick Saban name brand, then what? Should recruits follow in that man's footsteps? Play elite football, represent your state! Landon, LSU is home, and we are good. Think about this man. So many girls do not work out dude. 4 years is a long time!

Just my opinion.
1. Many of these kids don't have the same feelings about LSU as the fans do. They likely didn't grow up as huge LSU fans, so there really isn't much "hate" for a rival school. Nor is there much of an "attachment" to LSU.
2. Most see college as simply the NFL's "minor league." They don't care about the traditions or history of a college program, they just want to go to the place that will get them to "the league". In that respect.....
3. Love him or hate him, Nick Saban has a good track record of putting players in the NFL. He just happens to be at Alabama, so that's where recruits want to go. If he were to pick up today and leave for Rutgers, you would see top talent leave their home states to go to Rutgers.
While you might find the idea of a Louisiana kid going to Alabama, Auburn, USC, etc. repulsive, the fact of the matter is that you aren't the person with the special ability to play football at the college or pro level. These kids are looking out for themselves and are going to go to the place they think will get them to the NFL. Some think that place is LSU, some don't.

I would like to see the TAF come up with something exciting (along with a stadium renovation - not a "new" stadium). I can recall some of the most exciting recruiting times in Tiger football were around times when the second nosebleed section went up, when we got awesome new facilities such as the weightroom, locker room, indoor practice facility, etc... In a lot of ways I can see how hard it is for kids to get excited about a school/team whose facilities were AWESOME 5 to 10 years ago, but are now just "good" facilities.
