Why was Desmond Little mentioned seldom, if ever on this board before signing day?

I realize he was just a 3* recruit. Plus, so much attention was focused on Ish and the Mississippi guys. Wish we could have read more about Little and less about Sophser.

I assume he wasn’t a top target.

Because he was a 3 star and this board loves stars

I'm pretty sure he was a silent commit and knew he was the backup plan to Ish, etc.
No news was pushed, I expect, so nobody else would take a closer look at him.

Well to be fair coaches love stars too. It’s not a coincidence that a 4 or 5 star is more likely to make into the NFL over 3s.

He was on the list of “ scout looks “ on 247. But I don’t remember a single mention of him here. LSU obviously has a board and the coaches know who they want that is on the cusp. Somebody has already established the Sophser/Little challenge to see who has the best career. My money is on the “ scrub “ nobody wanted.

Because we lost out on Pickering young Moore and sophser. He was a backup plan

Hoping he works his arse off, bulks up and becomes a beast

He was the fallback guy but I bet he makes the most out of it. He can redshirt his first year and bulk up. This class is going to do great things for LSU.

He was the secret 6 Star prospect VolTiger had up his sleeve. I don’t know where’d we be without VolTiger dominating this whole shindig

Unless you bring something to the board besides dumbass comments, you should shut up.

I'm appreciative of Vols efforts to keep this board informed. Getting decent recruiting information is difficult. A guy like Vol that's obviously close to the program can be invaluable.

Thanks Vol. I know that I've said it before but let me say it again. Thanks.

First time I heard his name was when he signed. I'm sure there's many players that want to go to LSU but LSU has sights on a bigger fish. We just don't hear much about them. Apparently Little was on LSU's radar a few months. Maybe Orgeron didn't want anyone to know about him and kept his name quiet.

We didn’t lose out on Moore. He went Juco didn’t he. Or was that a different Moore for Auburn?

you know the coaches can't mention recruits by name don't you? so WHO DOES mention them by name? the recruiting services, the sports media and the message boards and these sources have the LEAST actual knowledge of a teams actual recruiting plan and who they have evaluated, favorably or otherwise. recruiting SELLS and the most popular recruits get the sensational coverage. coaches have "diamonds in the rough" finds that they don't want to tip their hands on. often these guys are plan B but they like 'em.

in the case of Little, it very well have been a case of Aranda likeing him and O liking others ahead of him. I don't ever remember hearing of Mo Claibourne or Jacob Hester before they signed.

The word I'm hearing is he was a silent commit with the understanding that if certain things fell through, we wanted him. Vigor had a stud defense this year and he was the best of the bunch! That school is located in a rough area, so there's no doubt he's tough because you don't survive down there unless you can hold your own. I'm excited about the signing and I think he could be a pleasant surprise in a couple of years!

Hoping he turns out like that La Tech cat that led the NCAA in sacks.
