jayboy-I agree, when speaking to Davon friday night before his basketball game I asked him directly about his grades, he said he will have no problem qualifying, he just have to take the ACT.
Also, I asked him what's the difference between Coach Miles and Coach Saban, he said that coach miles is more of a father figure type and coach saban is more of a business owner type personality, we both laughed.
I asked what colleges will he be looking to take visits when the time comes, he mentioned Bama, Florida, Florida State, USCw and a host of others, seems like he hasn't really thought about it much yet. But those are the ones he mentioned by name.

brewhan-how many OOS recruits you think the tigers will sign for 2014 class? Seems to me 90% should come from the Boot. lol

Don't you just hate that?!?!?!? At least if people have information regarding someone's grades please just back it up and not post on he say / she say...
I have an issue with statements like this. You present that as if what I and others are saying is just gossip, when in fact we are just repeating a credible source.
Its rare that average joe knows some inside information on their own, and even when their information comes straight from the kids, it can be wrong.
Let Adam Taylor or Courtney Gardner tell it, they were officially Tigers earlier this year. Same with Josh McNeil currently. Others close to UHigh still swear that Tim Williams is being pursued by LSU, despite signs that seemingly indicate other wise. Again, I understand that most paysites, just like the posters here, are third parties, but considering the accuracy of paysites and where they get their information from usually (the recruits, the LSU coaches, opposing team's recruiting network, the community etc.), there is some legitimacy to that information.
I'll end with this direct quote from Shea
quote:
They are monitoring academics here, but if all checks out and he continues to stay healthy and play well, I see Godchaux grabbing an offer from LSU.
This was the situation as of two months ago. Whether things have changed since then, would be new information to most. That said, if someone has some inside knowledge, thats cool to share too.
That's kind of how this message board works. A bunch of passionate LSU fans, aggregate information and discussion from a variety of channels (personal anecdotes, paysite info, interviews etc) in an effort to gain insight on and support our beloved LSU tigers.

If we take care of business in state, we won't need to sign that many, as LA is absolutely loaded at our positions of need in 2014.
I'd like to keep Hardeman and Voorhies committed; if we could get Ed Paris, Tony Brown, Cameron Hampton, and Andy Bauer, I'd be very satisfied (although getting all those guys will be hard).

Amos-I agree with what you are saying, and I just know even if the offer comes to Davon he is not a lock as most people would lead you to believe, I've known him since he was 9. So just putting it out there that he is very interested in seeing what other schools has to offer.

Gotcha
Any idea on who has his interested the most, outside of LSU?

Great post FamousAmos. No one could've said it better. The info comes from the best sources of LSU recruiting information there is. They've mentioned the academic risk since the day Godchaux got the "wink, wink" offer at camp. It's not like we just pulled it out of the air. Same place everyone gets the grade info from on Cutrer, Rashard Robinson, Tevin Lawson and Josh Boutte. None of us know what these kids grades look like for a fact. All we can go on is what the best sources tell us.
Not saying this is the case with Godchaux but it's not always as simple as taking the kids word as gospel concerning their ability to qualify for college. In many cases the kid doesn't really know what core classes they need or what steps they need to qualify. The high schools shortchange many kids in this area. In most instances the high schools are more interested in getting the kids graduated by any means necessary than properly going through the channels of getting them on the absolute best track for college. They tend to focus on the kids that are the best and brightest in high school not the kids just trying to qualify for a football scholarship. Most of the time the college coahces themselves have to properly set up the academic plans for these kids through the high schools. That's to be expected in some cases but in no way should the high schools drop the ball as much as they do. Their job is to put the kids on the best path possible not just a pth that's good enough to get them graduated to boost their statistics to keep getting the amount of government aid that they feel they deserve.

I believe he (Godchaux) currently holds offers from ULL and Southern.

Amos-there is a strong interest in Bama and Fla. State.
lsufanva-I can assure you that his core grades are being taken care of. Now whether LSU decides to offer is here nor there. And if LSU doesnt offer it WILL NOT be because of grades.

The coaches probably just want to see them camp against the top competition. If they do well = offer.

They need to start looking at Nigel Dora. He's a RB at Ouachita who didn't touch the field until a kid got hurt in game 3 or 4. He went on to easily rush for well over 1,000yrd and scored I want to say 10-12 TD's which isn't bad for coming on so late. He ended up 1st team all district and honorable mention all state. He has another full season to impress and the fact he came fresh off the track lets you know he can run. He's another on of my Y guys as is Hoottie and Fuller from Neville. I'm going to ask that CLM comes though me to get these guys. My flag officials would rank 1 or 2 in the country with the guys I have.
