Ed has been turning down college offers left and right. He knows those NFL head coaching jobs will start opening up in a month

Wilson would be golden at USM. They have always gotten Nola talent, but Frank would bolster that instantly. With usm's low admission standards, he can bring in a lot of talent that maybe couldn't get into an LSU.

Usm has strong coordinators already in place as well as a lot of returning players. It could be the perfect situation for a first time HC trying to get his feet wet at a mid major school. Also, it's a good spring board for a big job.

Eta: richie brown would be the first bell cow in his inaugural recruiting class

I don't know Frank from Jack, but I think he's great. That being said, how does a guy go from a HS Coach to a RB coach/recruiting coordinator go to a major D1 HC job in 2 years? IMO that is a HUGE jump.

He's in a perfect spot from him right now, Les will give him his opportunities at LSU in due time.

And FWIW, I went to USM and had a blast.

I thought all coaches received a raise. I still don't think LSU would have any trouble at all replacing Stud, and I have never been a big fan of him.

Wilson is a great recruiter, not an X's and O's guy. I don't think he is OC material, but I do think he would make a good Head Coach if he surounds himself with good coaches. Not all college coaches are great "teachers" of the game, you have to have both on your staff, some are on staff for their recruting ablities and some for their coaching ablities. The NCAA used to allow for recruting coordinators to not be one of the ten full time coaches, when that rule was changed you started to see more college staffs with coaches whose major purpose was to recruit, not to be great filed coaches.
