you've already made an arse out of yourself enough
You're the moron who said Eaux offered Tua so Kiffin would come to LSU to be the OC. I couldn't quit laughing for 20 minutes over that stupid shite.
quote:
You said Kiffin gave Orgeron every indication he was coming to LSU
If he had not gotten a HC job he would be at LSU right now. He had already left Alabama. After Houston hired Applewhite and South Florida hired Strong it was a pretty sure thing Kiffin was coming to LSU.
"In the interview, Kiffin alludes to his having a choice between LSU and FAU without directly saying he was offered the position by Orgeron. Kiffin told Travis with greater maturity has come greater perspective in what he values in his career and salary and size of the program are no longer paramount to him."
So basically, it was head coach - which he wanted or LSU as the OC. That is in his own words.
ALABAMA TEAM NEWS Did Lane Kiffin turn down LSU OC offer for FAU? He sets record straight
quote:
Those junk links you gave gives no such indication whatsoever, so don't call others liars
I wasn't calling you a liar just because of the Kiffin info you were wrong about. It also included the stand up routine stuff you posted. Like "Orgeron was using that scholly offer to him as a ploy to try and lure Kiffen to come and be his OC" and "but Orgeron calls himself being slick by trying to lure Lane Kiffen over to LSU, and so he does that".
quote:
Everything I said is 100% fact
So post a link. You asked me for a link and I have now posted 3 of them. Post a link to your made up shite about what Tua said to Eaux. You said "and he even said as much that he has zero interest in LSU". Post a link, it should be very simple to do.
quote:
You haven't got shite right, loser! Have a nice day, jerk off!
I've gotten a lot more right than you have. I am having a nice day, Thanks !!!

Why dont LSU offer every 5* each year?
Send the message: "If you're one of the top-32 in all of High School, LSU wants you".
A) I don't think it's going to be scaring away other 5* or 4*, except maybe QBs. They seem to be really sensative about such things.
B) What's the worst that can happen? We get 25 each 5*'s? I won't cry.
C) We ain't going to fill the class up with 5*'s anyway.
D) Just because they hold an offer, when the rubber meets the road you don't HAVE to accept the commitment if it interferes with numbers/needs. Reference Goodrich.
For me it's not a recruiting strategy, it's a marketing strategy that enhances your recruiting strategy.
Hell, I think any in-state recruit that gets a 250 spot or more bump in the late season update should get an offer too. That's a little more risky

Because we offer every 3 star player instead.

The reason why you don't offer every 5 star is just bc they say a player has 5 stars, doesn't mean he's that good

Someone thinks they are the best [available], and it's public information out there for all to see. So it is about sending the message that LSU 'wants the best' AND LSU 'recognizes you'.
In the end we won't sign them all. Period. No way in hell. So what's the downside? None. We all agree we are not on the same level as tOSU, Clemson, Bama... this is simply a very easy and cheap way to play on their level (as it pertains to recruiting, not on the field).
And if I was going to argue the point you were making I would counter with is that while that 5* may not be that good (I agree), is he worse than the others? No. In some cases he just may be the shiny turd, not that good but better than the others (on average).
With that in mind, here's the strategy I'd employ with the 4* we want because we think he's better: tell the 4* that! Hey, this dude is a 5* and everybody is offering him. We're offering you because we think you are better, and this is our message to the rankers on your behalf that we think so. So come here and prove us right.
That offer to a 5* can be used to bring others in, not push them away. You can even go so far as pulling that 'obscure' 5*'s offer if the 4* signs early. Tell him you sign, we pull. You are the guy.
