I notice every year that Bama offers every 5 star while Lsu offers about half of them. Why don't we at least make an offer for every single one and show interest?

Because you only have so many scholarships ... Bama has a better chance of getting those 5 Stars . When you’re in a state like Louisiana you need to try your best to lock it down . Before offering every other top player in the country .

I'm sure we offer quite a few.

Because throwing out empty offers dilutes impact of the offer. So then, when you have a kid that might actually come and you are going to recruit hard, they know it matters. Before you ask you can’t recruit hard every single kid due to time and resources. Secondly, you don’t want to lose in state kids that you should lock down. Recruiting is a bigger game than just getting the best kid in a single year. It is a process of establishing relationships with high school coaches and organizations to consistently recruit well.

O did this last year when he got promoted and offered Tau. This place nearly went crazy when Brennan guestioned it.

Because we're not Bama? Just going out on a limb there, but I still think I'm right.

Obviously they aren't all committable offers, there's always more 5* than would fit into an entire class. And secondly, a lot of those "offers" are reported by the kids, which may or may not always be accurate

Bama does it and wins more than everybody... maybe that’s part of the recipe.
I say you offer and if last minute if a team like Bama spurns him, at least he has an offer and maybe somewhat of a relationship with the coaches.
Although I love the idea of locking down the state, the dynasty that is Bama recruits everywhere, and they win by doing so.
Now I do agree that Bama can do that and recruits will give them more consideration, but you gotta start somewhere.

Saban understands the numbers game. Orgeron doesn't seem capable of effectively doing so

Pretty sure they don’t recruit based off of whether or not different recruiting services label a kid a 5 Star

I hope u don’t believe recruiting services get their ratings on their own.
They know how sought out most kids are and go from there.
Every now and then someone is missed..,ah la Claiborne, Hester ...
If these so called recruiting gurus were that good, they would be getting paid by football teams... not by advertisements on a 247 website... which has gotten ridiculous to say the least.

Maybe so and if there was mutual interest then offer is justified. I am not so sure of the Tua intentions of attending LSU and maybe he gave O an indication.

That was done when Kiffin was coming to LSU as the OC. When Kiffin got the HC job Tua said he was solid to Bama and signed with them.

No, Tua gave Orgeron no indication he wanted to come to LSU and he even said as much, that he has zero interest in LSU, kid was already committed to Alabama 110%. Orgeron was using that scholly offer to him as a ploy to try and lure Kiffen to come and be his OC. But I mean it was stupid because he almost lost Brennan in the process who decommitted when Orgeron did that.

You are really consistant and VERY GOOD at this stuff aren't you???

Brennan NEVER docommitted from LSU. He said he was going to look around and that was all that happened, if he did indeed even look around.

You got any more bullshite to sling ???

This isn't the Rant, most people here actually follow recruiting and can spot someone like you that doesn't have a clue very easily.

This is the stupidest made up shite I have seen today. Congrats !!!

Don't get mad at me. You are the one posting all the bullshite.

Just ONE ??? There's hundreds of them. Here's a couple.

Here's how close Ed Orgeron came to hiring Lane Kiffin at LSU

"Kiffin was definitely coming to LSU from Alabama to be the Tigers’ offensive coordinator, per multiple, multiple sources. And per Orgeron, who’d included Kiffin’s name as OC on a projected coaching staff during his interview.

"I know probably — and I can’t blame them — I know that Alabama probably didn’t want him to come here," Orgeron says. "I’m assuming they did everything they could to get him a head job. But he was honest with us. He said, ‘Coach, I’m coming to LSU unless I get a head job, and I want a head job.’"

Kiffin was interviewed on the syndicated Sports Talk With Bo Mattingly show on ESPN radio out of Fayetteville, Ark.
Lane Kiffin on efforts to bring him to LSU as offensive coordinator: 'There was an intrigue there'

""Were you tempted to go back and work with your old friend Ed Orgeron at LSU?" Mattingly asked.

"I was. Cause I really think they're going to win a lot there," Kiffin said. "They have a lot of great players coming back ... especially the running backs."

WTF ???

Yep, my bad - he did decommit. I guess with all the other lies you told it was hard the accept the one thing you correct about as fact. Congrats on getting SOMETHING right even if it was just one thing.

Why don't you just Stfu, retard, you've already made an arse out of yourself enough. Lmao Although, I'm sure that's nothing new for you judging by all the dumb arse posts you've made on here since you have been a member on here. You said Kiffin gave Orgeron every indication he was coming to LSU. Those junk links you gave gives no such indication whatsoever, so don't call others liars and make strong insinuations like you've done on here when you seem to be the "father of lies and out my arse stories". "Might Be" and "He was intrigued" isn't the same as "Kiffin said he was coming to LSU". Lmao Everything I said is 100% fact, I don't care if you and some others choose to not believe it because people have short memories, I know that for sure.

You haven't got shite right, loser! Have a nice day, jerk off!
