Bama offers a lot of players that LSU doesn't offer. Including some in state (La.)

LSU doesn't offer a lot of players each year, both instate and OOS, that they either feel like they would commit on the spot or that they feel pretty confident they can make a late push for (instate guys especially). We also offer a lot of OOS guys cuz it's harder to pull those guys. Bama and Fla do the same. I know some of these guys had other reasons for no offer, but Bama offered Robby Green, Sentimore, Lacy. We came in at the end for some. I'd be surprised if it gets close to signing day if Bama doesnt offer some of those guys you speak of

mo claiborne turned out pretty good and no one else of any consequence offered him
And I seem to recall Saban freaking out in the media that Claiborne didnt wait for Saban's offer.
I think Miles is actually pretty good at identifying guys in the summer who are NOT yet highly recruited, who can actually play football.

Appreciate your sense of humor. Maybe it could be because we are better at player development and coaching

Talent is not an issue at LSU.

THAT"S BRILLIANT, we can just stop spending time and money on recruiting and just make offers to whomever Bama and Florida offer. It is a new day my friends, this guy has all of the answers boldly disguised as a question. BRILLIANT!!

Well, for one, the South is loaded with plenty of talent and the same could be said for Bama and Florida. They are not going to offer a kid that LSU wants if they know he is a solid LSU commit, why waste the time. I guess Miles hauling in Top 10 classes year after year is not good enough? Two years ago depending upon which recruiting service you look at LSU finished either #1 or #2 right there with Alabama. LSU is headed to another Top 3 recruiting class for 2011. The years the talent is loaded in Louisiana, we rank down low. The years the instate talent is not that great, we still get in the Top 10. Last year was not a great year for instate talent, yet I think Miles and his staff did a great job getting the best class they could put together that fits their needs. In 2009, LSU and Texas had the most players in the NFL. I don't think LSU's problem has been talent. I think LSU's problems started when Ryan Perrilloux got the boot off the team and we did not recruit anymore QB's in for one class because we thought he was our future. And last but not least, when LSU gets these kids in for their summer camps, that is when they truly can evaluate the men from the boys and I think Miles and his staff know a good player when they see one.

Because Miles' wants to prove he can recruit in their backyard like they do here.

Could Miles also be trying to kill 2 birds at one time: (1) Recruit a pretty good player (not great), and (2) Establish a foothold at a productive out of state highschool.

This thread is going South, because fans are in denial. Not too many real answers to the question---just sarcasm. Keep going.

Then don't think it and you may not be so upset.
LSU National Rankings
2006: #7
2007: #4
2008: #11
2009: #2
2010: #6
2011: 11 commits, 1-5*, 6-4*, 4-3*
Looks pretty solid to me...

Learn to separate your frustration with the coaching staff from what LSU has done on the recruiting trail

are you proposing that our coaches might be "dumbing down" top talent? lol
seriously though... we know Miles can Co can recruit like nobody's business. I wouldnt question that at all.
developing talent is TBD (ill reserve judgement for JJ, Shep, and the Lees), and gametime coaching is Helter-Skelter - sometimes Miles is brilliant, and sometimes you wonder if the light is on but nobody's home.
