I watched a few CHS-BR games last year and he tore it up… He had that crazy game vs the DC area team to start the year. There is no way there is 13 better WRs in last year’s class better than him

What was “insiders” knock on him? Did he commit to the wrong team too early lol

He didn’t sign with Crap-A-Bama. That’s why.

I don't understand either. He is a 5* talent and he's dominated every time I've seen him play.

Regardless, he'll be a beast for us.

To be fair, CHS didn’t face many great SEC / D1 caliber DBs. All the QB did most of the time was throw it up for grabs, or a long post, and Sampson would either out jump or out race the DB

He does not have major upper body strength - yet. He has D1 speed and D1 hands. Wait to see how he faces off against LSU’s DBs in practice first.

Troll. It was about why he wasn’t ranked higher and getting more pub. Got nothing to do with team, but carry on.

You think Devonte Smith had a D1 body while at bama? Dude was rail thin. And the WRs job is to outjump and run past defenders lol

Sure let's use a complete anomaly to make a point. Since he's the comparison let's go with it. Smith was also an excellent route runner, had elite hands, fantastic speed/agility/athleticism and is just a dog which is immeasurable in regards to rankings. Sampson dropped because he is below elite in those things. He's tall and athletic with plenty of speed but is far from refined as a skilled wr. Smith was just skinny. Everything else he had in spades and proved it at every stop. With Sampson its just as easy to project Malachi Dupree as it is Randy Moss. One is rare, the other commonplace in terms of end result.

Rankings matter, but they're not the end-all be-all. You can clearly see a correlation between recruiting rankings and team/program success. It's not debatable.

Justin Shorter
Derion Kendrick
Devon Williams
Jordyn Adams
Marquis Spiker
Mark Pope
Kamryn Babb
Kevin Austin

Those are just some of the 14 WRs ranked higher than Jamar Chase on 247 composite. This is after Jamar Chase absolutely dominated the Nike Elite camp and his senior year of HS football.

Don't get so caught up by rankings. If a guy has the production, character and measurables then it doesn't matter what the rankings are.

Obviously we don't want a bunch of borderline 3*s only. But typically outside of the super elite (5-10) guys every year there's really not a major difference in athletic ability in #11-#250.

So much more matters in character. Is he going to get onto campus and work his arse off and develop? Or is he going to come in entitled and everyone else's athleticism will catch up?

So your cousin is the one that gave up that huge second and long on their final drive to win the game.

I’ve been around here for a long time. And the more I’ve seen so many posters start threads like this, I find funnier and funnier. Why did so and so drop 14 spots?

Who gives a shite? Do people not realize that there’s really not much difference between the #50 prospect and the #150 prospect? They’re all elite college prospects and they’re being recruited by an elite group for a reason.

Who did? 5A Louisiana ball you will play as many good athletes as almost anywhere. It’s not like his QB was tossing up prayers against 2A Montana players
