why are we signing 4 safetys this year?

i notice we are signing a bunch of safetys. we only have like 2 DT and 1 CB (i may be wrong on those numbers).
so we just have alot of those in state? Looks like we will be ok at wr and rb. If we only get ware we still got ford. I see we got a pretty good full back.
another linebacker wouldn't hurt. look good at DE and TE.
offensive line looks good.

They may not stay at safety, but they're not going to play DT.

Reid=S/lb
Simon=S/cb/wr Watch out for him playing offense
Muncie=lb
Vinson=S/cb
TM=cb
Gibson=S/dual threat QB
Just some of the best athletes on a high school team,play safety. Also Chavis likes guys that can cross-train and play different areas. It helps bring speed and depth(in case of injuries).

TM=cb

Probably because good DT's aren't to be had this year.
Lot's of DB talent and lots of big safety LB hybrids that Chavis loves.

signed two safeties in 09 only two...one has moved to LB...Francois has been moved to LB

Chad Jones is here for his senior season. We'll move one to LB and some safeties make good CBs 
I think we're taking so many because they're versatile. Aren't we looking at Vinson at CB anyways?

Drew, here are the breakdowns by position.
Cornerback: Ronnie Vinson and Tyrann Mathieu
Safety: Eric Reid and possibly Tharold Simon and Sam Gibson
Linebacker: DJ Welter, Luke Muncie, and possibly Maclin or Bates
In other words, we will probably have 2 CBs, 2 safeties, and 3 linebackers.
DL is a little bit hazier, but Allen, Blackmon, and at least one of Maclin or Bates will be playing on there. I also think that we will be adding one more DT. Richard Ash or Cassius Marsh could be a possibility.
