. Lebron was bigger and more muscular at the same age. Just not taller.
You can tell that Simmons has been in the weight room this season. Compare pictures of the two in their Sr. years. Lebron wasn't really THAT much bigger than Simmons is now. I suspect Simmons will be listed at 6'9" 235-240 lbs in his first game for LSU

Lebron also did not have as good of an outside shot in HS. Simmons has decent range and will just get better.
I love Simmons' game and think he will be awesome for LSU but this simply is not true. I almost hesitated to respond because I don't want to become involved in a pissing contest or be accused of trashing the kid.
Lebron has always been comfortable on the perimeter wheras if I had to pick a weakness in Simmons game, that would be it. As a senior Lebron was 60-157 from 3pt range (@38%) in 27 games. He was 171-477 for his high school career (@36%)
In 28 games this year, Simmons is 15-51(@29%). At this stage, the 3 is not a huge part of his arsenal however he does seem to have good form and should improve.

Agent-You are spot on with the 3 point shooting between the two. Lebron improved dramatically his 3 point shooting from jr-sr year in high school. And to the poster that says Thon Maker reclassification pushes Ben to No.2, well, when the time comes for both to enter the draft, we will see.

Ok noob. You didn't know either I guess...

He's still pretty clearly ahead of Maker.

Sorry to mislead you. I have seen a lot of video of Simmons shooting and was speaking more of his 17-18ish feet range. Keep in mind that next year, the quality of opponent goes up for him and his shot will evolve.
I know little of his work ethic and drive but think he has the tools to end up in Springfield. Time will tell.

He will not be near the pro LeBron is, PERIOD.
Saying differently is just untrue.
Glad you saw LeBron have an off game yet still totally dominate you.
I love Simmons game and glad he's a Tiger.
This isn't a knock on Ben. Literally 5 people tops in the history of the NBA have been the pros Lebron has been. Why yall feel to put that kind of pressure on an 18yr old is laughable. He's the best signee we've had period. We need him

This. I mean Ben is one of the best prospects we've ever signed, lets just enjoy our one year and see what happens. I mean Lebron will finish his career as a top 5 player EVER easily. Think about that...That's a lot of pressure comparing a high schooler to that.
Don't get me wrong, I see no problem in comparing them as high schoolers, but for people to say he will or won't have the NBA career as Lebron is just ignorant at this point.

Who is the basketball recruit making headlines?
Benny's godfather is David Patrick, an Assistant on the Basketball team coaching staff. Thanks for your interest in the team, how about at least knowing his name next time you conclude how good he will or wont be...
Without even knowing him or LSU basketball for that matter, he concludes he can't be that good since he committed to LSU.
Some of our fans are the worst in the country, hands down....
