Dunbar is the best WR I've seen at Rummel the last 15 years. Not saying a whole lot but I think he'll get solid D1 offers

Hezekiah Randolph looked good, again. Surprised no one is really going after him

This kid was a monster on the baseball diamond last time I saw him, if he's still playing I'm assuming he may go the baseball route at the next level.

Yea he hurt it on a sick diving catch last week. Not sure what his speed times out at but I would think he is fast enough for the next level. Also a good bball player from what I hear

I was very impressed by the athletes Rummel had on the outside considering what we had when I was there.

Dunbar passed the eye test for sure.... he made consistent good catches. The speed was lacking a bit but I'd fashion him in the same breath as a lafell. Huge hands and gangly body... i hope he gets invited to Les' camp and impresses like he did in the dome!

I'm sure Hezekiah is still playing baseball. He did look really good in the Dome though. As impressive as his running was, I was just as impressed by his blocking downfield.

I would like to see LSU's coaches go to Palo Alto and meet with Stanford's coaches to figure out how to incorporate the TE into the offense better.

And every time you suggest it I think how foolish you have to be to think this is some closely held Stanford secret. Maybe we could trade their TE knowledge for our knowledge on how to get cornerbacks to be productive - RECRUIT PATRICK PETERSON! THAT'S HOW!

In the 5A game:

For Rummel

QB Damian Williams - Really sold the playaction well.. He is a very effective power runner, rather than the elusive type you see so much with Dual Threat QBs, but still very dangerous when he gets space. He displays very impressive arm strength, but can improve on his decision making when going through his progressions. In the semifinal game against Mandeville, he missed a wide open receiver on a streak, instead throwing to another deep option who was well-covered. He playing style resembles a mixture between Collin Klein and Tim Tebow, IMO. He holds offers from Kansas State and Nebraska, among other mid-major schools. I think Kansas State would be an ideal fit for him.

Cethan Carter - Had a very solid outing in the championship game. Had several big catches, most of which were flat routes that he turned into big gains. Displayed an enormous amount of power when running, delivering blows that sent defenders on their backs. He is also a very efficient blocker, both in the running and passing game. Played a little DE, too, from what I saw. He holds offers from FIU, Southern Miss, Tulane, ULL, and Memphis.. and LSU seems to be coming on strong as of late.

Steven Dunbar - a 2014 guy, I'm fairly sure. He most likely will see a decrease in production next season with the departure of Williams at QB. However, he has the measurables to get some respectable D1 looks, IMO. He's listed at 6'3 180, which is a very nice frame for an outside WR. He can go up and catch the ball at its highest point, which is something coaches look for in a go-to receiver. Displayed very soft hands as well, catching everything thrown his way.

For Barbe

DeSean Smith - He really wowed me with his performance. Made some incredible catches in traffic on big 3rd downs. Came up big when his team needed him against a VERY, VERY good Rummel defense. I'm glad he is in this LSU class. He will see early PT, IMO.

Trey Quinn - Was not able to have the type of performance he has put on in the past, but that is only due to Rummel's incredible defense. The Raiders really designed their game plan to focus on Quinn, and really limited his output from his usual day at work. Still, he runs as crisp and polished routes as you could ask for in a receiver and possesses uber-athletic leaping ability. Not afraid to go over the middle to catch the ball in traffic, either.. which is something you love to see in a receiver. I'd love to have him in the 2014 class for LSU.

Keenan Fontenot - IMO, the best player on Barbe's team. He won't be the biggest recruit, due to his size, but had an uncanny ability to escape pressure and extend plays. While he was sacked a few times, he could have easily been sacked upwards of 5 more times, but was somehow able to escape the DL's pursuit and even turn the play into a first down run. His ability to scramble is a huge reason for Barbe's offensive success. Manziel is a perfect comparison, IMO. Supposedly, he is a big time baseball prospect, from my understanding. Truly, a hell of an athlete.

My top players were in no particular order:
John Diarse, Neville(LSU)
Gerald Willis, Speedy Noil, Karr(hopefully LSU)
Desean Smith, Barbe(LSU)
Cethan Carter, Rummel(LSU needs to look at him)
Duke Riley, JC (good looking LB)
Trent Taylor, Evangel(LA Tech type player)

Hootie jones disappointed me. He looked like he was going half speed out there.

He had a nagging injury that made it hard to change direction without a great deal of discomfort. It was nothing major and he will be good with some rest.
