LSU fans and wanting to move safeties to LB?? Now people are talking about moving Reid to LB already.

Jesus christ. Just because he weighs 203 lbs in high school doesn't mean he's going to play at 245 lbs by his soph year in college.

These guys really irk me.

move along now.

Are you kidding me? Wait until Moffit gets ahold of him. He will be 275 and possibly moving to DT

If Sean Taylor played at LSU the Rant would have him at LB.

Reid ran a 4.37 forty recently, he is a safety and a damn good one

it's a natural thought when we get a good Safety with size

the reason being is because we usually are loaded up with Safetys moreso than LBs, which is a position we struggle to recruit annually

For example, if Chad Jones moved to the SAM position it would allow us to get one of our weaker LBs off the field and get a guy like Loston/Francois/Hatcher on the field which in turn gives us more speed on the field and more talent

not that I am opposed to CJ being our free safety

Yeah I was gonna say Reid is almost a Chad Jones clone without having the badass off-speed pitch.

??i doubt seriously he is running a legit 4.4 forty

Are you quoting my post on Tigerbait?

I only said that bc LSU is loaded at safety and not so loaded at LB. I agree that he's a much better fit at safety than LB, but we're going to have a damn good safety on the bench for a few years with the way things are looking now. And at LB, we really don't have as many great prospects.

Really?

I'm pretty sure I read where I Trovon Reed ran a slow arse time earlier this year at a camp...doesnt mean these guys can't improve on them at some point.

I don't know who the OP was on TB. Once someone said it, that got the snowball rolling.

These guys are safeties. They play like safeties and I'm sure never have played LB. I understand the issue with depth at LB or the recruits that are at LSU, but they are two totally different positions.

Chavis always liked moving safeties to LB.

I have no problem with a player putting on a little weight and being a fast OLB. If it gets them on the field and doesn't hurt their NFL future(if they have one) why do people care?

I was the one who said that on Tigerbait.

I agree with you, they are definitely safeties. I was just searching for a way to get our best players on the field bc I'm not in love with any of our OLB prospects besides Baker, Tahj Jones, and Muncie. And even a guy like Muncie, who I like, is not the same caliber a prospect as Reid/Simon.
