It's a ploy by Tony Hull to get Ed O to hire him at LSU.

If they rather play at Kansas over a solid SEC school because they are guaranteed playing time, then LSU should quit recruiting them. They have no chest.

guess you never seen Whop play...

O can't just say "LSU" and expect the kids to just run to him... 2007 was 9 years ago. 2011 was 6. he needs to sell to kids because that's what Tony Hull clearly is doing.

remember what Tony Hull did in high school. Warren Easton wasn't nothing for years and it wasn't too long before he took them to the Dome and had them loaded...

I'm sorry, but if you think Tony Hull is a good enough recruiter to land several 4 star recruits after his team has won 2 games in 2 years without any help ($$) then you are clueless.

They have plenty of steak and apparently cow brains is a delicacy there. Seriously I saw it advertised on a restaurants billboard right next to premium steaks, like it was their specialty.

The wheat fields, depression, alcoholism, getting married to your twin brother, learning how to drive a tractor, milking a cow . I bet it was their first plane ride and the first time they seen a tree . They will be Tigers when it's show time .

Not sure why there is so much bashing of the state of Kansas. Every state has their negative stereotypes, Plenty of them come to mind when I think about LA but I'm not ignorant enough to mention them because I know there are a lot of good things too.

I will say that Lawrence, Ks is not in the part of the state where you get your stereotypes from. We have a beautiful campus (I suggest you look it up) and one of the best downtowns of any college campus. KC is also a 40 min drive away.

I realize that we are not on the same playing field as LSU I don't expect to keep all these recruits but KU has more to offer than most think. Our stadium is in desperate need of attention but we have some of the best locker room and training facilities in the country and our new football dorms will be done by the time these recruits hit campus. Watching what Mike Lee did last year was spectacular when he should have still been in high school. This is proof that kids can come here and play right away. I think we ranked #2 in the nation in snaps taken by freshman and I believe that for the 2017 season we will be improved in about 21/22 positions. So things are looking up.

I hope we can hang on to Tony Hull for at least a few years, I don't believe this is a conspiracy to get him to LSU. Considering he left a job at NASA, I believe that he wants to make a difference in kids lives and build a program from the bottom.

I've lurked on this thread and didn't bother to comment because of the pure ignorance. I'm a LSU grad but spent a lot of time in Lawrence. The place is badass as is KC. Just a bunch of clueless cajuns throwing stones despite never stepping foot in lawrence. Ignore the trolls.

For those of you who seriously want to know something about how KU managed to pull all these LA recruits, here's a good article on the topic from KU Rivals site;

They told these kids they would be living in Manhattan.

Manhattan is where KSU has their university, whereas KU is based in Lawrence, about 40 minutes from KC. The campus at KU looks like this;

Great campus, Facilities, Academic and athletic department offer several things LSU does not.

LSU destroys KU in facilities and as an athletic department (yes, even with our AD). KU has a decent campus, but I'd take LSU's over it all day, everyday from what I've seen. Academics are a wash when you're looking to play football and make it in the NFL. In terms of program's history/prestige, national relevance, visibility and fan base, LSU blows KU out of the water as well. This shouldn't even be a discussion. KU trumps us badly in bball though, I'll give them that.

Didn't even read it. It's not truthful unless it mentions paying them to commit

I think that you're looking at it from an SEC viewpoint. I recently read an article from 2014 where it describes how 5* and 4* recruits are paid through the "shadow booster" system that exists in every successful SEC school.

Now I'm not naive enough to believe that this doesn't happen in Big 12 schools too, but I doubt that it's to the same degree as it is in the SEC. One thing that I know for sure ... we aren't outpaying LSU and co. If you think about it, there have to be other reasons these kids decided to commit to KU besides money.

Read this about how endemic payoffs are in the SEC;

That's what's fishy about it. Nothing is appealing about going to KU if you are a football player and not from Kansas.

That coach that made Colorado really good in the 80s or 90s started pulling in great recruits by telling their moms they would be away from trouble there in Boulder. Course then his star qb knocked up his daughter or something. Maybe Kansas is trying to pull one of those types of plays.

SEc kids get paid but the boosters are smart enough to wait until the ink is dry on the NLI. Kansas is doing this way to early to try and get ahead in the game. In the end, Kansas gets hit with sanctions and doesn't get any of the bigger names that's committed.

It's hysterical that KU fans actually think these kids committed to KU because of any other reason.
In the past 10 years
National Championships LSU has played in: 2
KU winning seasons: 2

Let that sink in for a minute....
