that I thought committed to us a year or two ago? We wanted the receiver on his team that was ranked really high, also.

You mean McMillan. He's still committed to us.

Yes, he'll be a freshman next season, would be shocked if he doesn't redshirt.

He committed over the summer, not that far back.

Do we have a chance with Demarkus Lodge?

McMillan will add quality depth and may eventually develop into a starter down the road. LSU is finally building some decent QB depth and if we can get Shea it'll definitely be going in the right direction with Franks too.

Seems to fit the mold of what Les thinks a QB should be.

Umm, we had Mett,Rivers, Jennings and rettig on the roster with a comitment from Harris. Finally? Depth was there for sure. I mean our 2nd string guy came in and won 2 games. Not sure what more you could ask. Just had no depth this particular season.

Les has input, but our future QBs will fit the mold of what Cam is wanting.

McMillian will enroll in january

We do have a shot with Lodge. Ole Miss and baylor seem to have a lead over us tho. Were sending three or four coaches in home this week. Les, Cam, Henry.

Comes down to OM, baylor, and LSU

So for all the recruitniks, is McMillan a legitimate prospect despite what we have lined up with Harris, Franks, and Zinkelmann? Or he moreso a way to lure Lodge to sign with us?

I don't think Lodge has anything to do with it, but McMillan is much more of a project than the other guys you listed. I think it was just very unlikely that we were going to get a polished QB prospect in the class between Harris and Franks, and the coaches liked McMillan enough to take him.

McMillan is a bit undersized, but runs the offense for one of the most productive offenses in the state of Texas and has for 3 years now. He's much better than people realize. I still think he has to do get stronger and obviously learn an entirely new offense, but this kid is not just a gimmick qb. He can ball.

I watched the Cedar Hill-Katy game from last year, last night. McMillan looked like Jordan Jefferson. Lodge was their only offense taking direct snaps. He wasn't impressive at all at least in that game.

I just watched the Cedar Hill vs Southlake Carroll game which CH won 62-42. Technically I only watched the 2nd half and McMillan's stats were really skewed downward by D Lodge. JM the LSU QB commit threw 2 perfect 50 yard passes that D Lodge dropped. They would not have TDs but minimum 50 yard gains. JM laid both of them right in there without Lodge having to do anything to catch them...he instead did his best CB impersonation and knocked the balls to the turf.

Great job by McMillan but at least his 2nd half stats are 100+ yards short.

McMillan was the QB everybody kept asking about when Lodge's highlights were first brought here. Sure he's a project, but not as bad as one like Rivers was. Dak was also a project that sat two years before taking any significant snaps.

Yeah, no comparison between McMillan and Rivers. First, McMillan has showed better accuracy that I believe Rivers has ever shown. Second, McMillan can move and runs a decent amount...still first a passer but he runs some also. Rivers is Mettenberger 2.0 on his mobility. Rivers has 0 chance of ever being a good QB (proven at LSU...proven at Vandy). McMillan might have a decent chance of becoming one. He throws a very catchable ball that gives the WRer a chance to make a play. Too bad Lodge didn't make the plays for him in the 2nd half today.

I said decent. Getting a competent QB every year so that we won't have to play young guys earlier than needed. Rivers was awful and taking Rettig and Jennings in the same year meant one wasn't going to stay. Cameron is going to stock the shelves with QBs so we won't have the same problems we've always had with that position.
