I went 28 pages deep in that Quad thread. I don't know why. Not much to do today. But Christ am I glad those posters have no say in who ends up at LSU

It was a cool story, at least it started that way. Guy comes to the recruiting board trying to get this kid recognized. It happens and the OP fed info about how much LSU was interested. It became very intriguing, and an underdog story. Not surprising why people would be interested.
But it turned out CoachJG was a liar, and a piece of crap handler, who was feeding the board BS, and then acted like you would expect him to when it didn't go his way.

It was a feel good story about a young kid who wanted to be a Tiger. Then a few posters said they watched his film and thought the guy was solid. So average guys like me were enjoying the behind the scenes look we were getting. Then it started to "not add up" in some of the things the handler was saying. Eventually it all came out that the guy was a piece of trash and full of shite. Congratulations to him for getting one over on me, but I'm still here and will be okay.

The reason he can report things stolen from paysites that those sites haven't reported yet is because people like Billy/Sonny/Shea will hold off on publishing articles until given the go ahead by their sources. However, they can allude to things in conversation on the board that they aren't exactly broadcasting as a finished article. There are also insiders that don't work for 247 but who post stuff on the board while asking people not to spread it around yet. Hell, you can even set up notifications for specific posters on 247 so that you will know immediately if they post some insider shite. This kid on twitter can take it and run with it, and he gains credibility by being right once in a while.

To this I'd argue that if the sources haven't cleared them to write about it then they shouldn't post about it either and if they do then it is now fair game for anyone to tweet about. But I understand that they need to give the subscribers something to keep them as paying customers. I feel like it's the risk you run if you hint at something on a message board.

This is dumb and no one should feel bad about sharing any info posted on a message board by a random poster (aka not a paid 247 employee). If the info shouldn't be shared yet, then these "insiders" shouldn't share the information either.
Also this is all conjecture as there is literally zero proof that AYS is stealing info from the boards. Bottom line is Billy is salty that AYS is breaking news before him and decided to try to discredit him. Issue is he came off as a bully/whiny prick.

I’m sorry you and others here feel that way. I’m okay with getting called whatever you would like to call me, but let’s get some facts straight.
Fact 1
I’m not a handler nor have I ever been compensated or attempted to be compensated or receive any improper benefit for assisting Quad. Or anyone else for that matter.
Fact 2
Quad had zero offers when his father asked me to start helping him. He asked. I helped. He ended up getting 12 offers including a few P5 offers. He is now on a full scholarship at Georgia State and is expected to be the starter as a true Sophomore this coming season. Did it work out at LSU? Nope. Did Quad ultimately get a full scholarship to play D1 FBS ball? Yup.
Fact 3
As a lifelong fan of LSU, I absolutely tried to get him an offer at LSU, especially when he communicated to me that LSU is where he wanted to be. I brought him to camp and multiple visits on my dime (per the invitation from a staff member, and both myself and Quad were told things by 2 separate staff members that did not happen. (Both staff members are no longer at LSU.) This Camp was one of 13 camps that I took Quad and several other kids, and I sponsored them to do so.
Fact 4
I was instructed by Coach Hawkins to get Jayson Jones on campus. I did not hold Jayson out to get Quad an offer.
Fact 5
Bc I have been a lifelong LSU fan, I let my emotion cloud my judgement when things didn’t work out for Quad, knowing how bad he wanted to be at LSU. For that I raise my hand and take responsibility for letting my emotions get in the way of my better judgement. I’m sure some of you have made a mistake before. Maybe. Maybe not.
What I do know is that I lied about the regrettable post I made here, and I take full responsibility for it. It was unbecoming, and I should have been honest about it. I reacted in an unprofessional and frankly I’m most disappointed that I lied about the post.
That said, the content of the post was information passed along to me, and I got pissed and out of character when I did that.
For that I do owe you guys an apology, Bc it clouded a ton of hard work and completely derailed that thread.

I’ve been going through it and this is about where I’m at right now. What a wild thread.
It was like watching the beginning stages of a religion or cult forming, watching group think/mob mentality take over, and watching a whole bunch of people being catfished at the same time.
Some random guy shows up talking about a little known qb prospect, and next thing you know has convinced a whole lot of people that the kid is a combination of Cam Newton and Jameis Winston, with Jamarcus Russell’s arm.
All these people thought LSU was screwing up big time by not offering a scholarship to this little known prospect who LSU had never even seen throw live, had no offers from any big time schools, and apparently ended up at Georgia St.
The two people who at this point were smart enough to question this stuff were immediately berated and shamed. Watching people behave like this over a kid who was a junior in high school that nobody even knew, it’s no wonder we can’t be civil with each other on actual important topics.
