Possible the staff Re-evaluated after Yaites and Daugherty (sic?) committed. BK and co. are still going after a few other safeties still, like Peyton Bowen (Yaites’ teammate), so little disappointing, yes, but not the end of the world.

He was always going to be hard to pull from the east coast. I’d rather focus on Kylin Jackson, Jordan Matthews, and whatever chance we have at Derek Williams.

Are you assuming or know this as absolute fact?

Crown is typically pretty plugged in and it fits.

There was a lot of indication that he was ours to lose, but not making his top 4 seems super odd, unless you consider NIL

Or possible LSU don't have enough money bag for him. Get use to it.

My theory combines that with the idea that the staff reevaluated their safety prospects and determined that it was better to go after Bowen due to whatever reasons they saw fit, likely that they already have his teammate and they want his brother too as well as that maybe they saw another player that would've filled the same role as Aguero.

Sure seems to be the fitting answer considering he visited us like 3 times early this year and we still couldn’t crack the top 4 lol.

We're still not where we need to be NIL wise

Truly unfortunate, but I believe in Kelly and the rest of the staff. We will get there

Is that "now" supposed to be a "not"?

Big difference in meaning.

If where we need to be is 13MM annually like Ryan Day suggested last week to keep your roster intact, plus NIL money for recruits, we may never get there.

Only way that's sustainable is LSU write if off as something else in their yearly athletic budgets and funnel it into NIL businesses for athletes that have no paper trail for the money to be linked back to the university. About the only way it's happening because boosters sure as frick are not going to dump 13 million annually for guys who might not ever make it past a month on campus. That's not sustainable.

I suppose they could possibly do it as I said above but that would severely hamper athletic budget across all sports since they'd need to funnel it into other sports like baseball too. Athletic pie budget would be eaten.

Indeed Captain Crown but hopefully when this new Louisiana bill comes into full swing we can atleast start having a fighting chance in some of these NIL battles.

The bill passed and should be in effect starting June 13th if I’m not mistaken.
