I really am about as happy as can be. Filled our needs, basically locked down our state in entirety depending on your stance with Tim Williams, and went outside the friendly confines and locked down some really top notch guys. I know this is nothing new, but I really wanted to voice how pleased I am with this class. Rankings aside, this class is top notch.

It's really cool that the SEC had seven of the top eleven recruiting classes. The rub is that we play ALL of the other six next year, and four of them EVERY year. We have to kill it just to keep pace.

Some of those teams are aberrations though as far as recruiting goes. We aren't. We are consistent in a state chalk full of talent. I love our recruiting base and location.

Freeze can do well with some top tier guys and next year his name may circle the wagons with some higher profile teams. I'm not concerned.

I absolutely loved this class and was very objective about it. What people forget is that recruiting rankings are not based off the best players, often times it is by draft value for instance DE/DT/QB are rated higher. I am most thrilled about two things in particualr:
1) Where are recruits came from out of state wise.
2) The pipelines that have either been established or restablished. Already see guys in this class recruiting and see guys that are about the team.

frick every other class out there, I will take these guys over anybody.

I agree. And I believe there are a few elite college teams, LSU included, that will have to manage their recruiting like Duke and Kentucky have to do in basketball. With studs leaving for the pros after three years, it'll take some smart position recruiting to stay ahead of the curve.

Where would the TD experts ranking this class compared to say the 2009 class or the Clayton/spears class earlier in 2000's? Tia

It's below the '09 and Spears/Clayton class. Part of that has to do with what those classes did on the field so it's hard to say just yet. Just going on pure rankings and talent it's not far off if off at all. Ton of talent in this class. Wait until next year. That class will be the best in LSU history and give any class ever a run for it's money. Gonna be loaded especially if we at least hold water on the field with 10 wins or so.

I totally agree! We met our needs with top quality prospects. I don't care what position the experts rank our recruiting year! We did good!
Have to look forward to next year and signing Leonard Fourette though, especially since we didn't sign a running back this year.
