When I said defensive end/tackle tweener I mean DT. This class needs a big DL like Brockers that could play either.

I follow LSU recruiting yearly and its seems as though this year the staff has just been lazy. We are seeing right now with these top guys who we try to get in on late turning us down. Why didnt we go after these guys from the start like most schools have and build a long relationship with instead of a few weeks? Miles has banked on just trying to get by on LA talent alone to much. We should go after national guys harder first along with the top tier instate guys and leave the offers for low to mid range guys at the end of the year.

I think OBJ and Landry can both stretch the field.

I agree both of those guys play bigger than their size. Landry is just fearless and will take it by effort and OBJs leaping ability showed in that picture of him over dre in the NC. Sometimes a bigger body doesnt mean anything just ask Michael WIlliams on November 6th.

LOL Im an idiot I know a lot of times peopel want to move the bigger ends like allen over to the offensive side of the ball....I can agree with that and wish we had gotten a bigger guy. Thats really my one worry going into the season is who will fill brockers role.

Yeah IMO it seems that its a down year for LA guys. I mean we lost Collins and Devall didnt fit our system and we got everyone else we wanted. Usually if you do that you end up being ok but this year its slightly dissapointing. IMO this staff has been set up generally to focus on LA-Frank WIlson Ensminger etc. and we lost our OOS guy when Billy G left.

Lsu is fine.. People quickly forget how young we are at all positions...

If you need rankings made by people who obviously have ulterior motives to make you feel proud of our class then youre sol

I have big O lineman. A slew of athletic LB's. Tall speedy great coverage corners. Raw speed at reciever. What more could you ask for in this class. We filled up on D lineman, safeties, and QB's last year. Yeah we should take a QB every year. Thats kind hard when a QB commit backtracks at the last minute. Hopefully we could still snag Liggins.

how can anyone call this class a failure bc we didnt sign some prima dona in keil, edwards or collins

IMHO, we don't "have" to do anything unless it is right for the program. it would supply depth and competition if we get Liggins but Mett will probably (unless he explodes which is a good thing) play 2yrs and Randal and Rivers will be grownups by then. my question is when will La. start producing some top flight qb talent again?

Qb talent isn't necessary in la football mostly bc its a running back state...

La is filled with athletes .. A qb will come sooner or later

I don't think we filled every need but most.

QB-not yet. Liggins would fill the need

RB-Hill is a luxury but 1 should be taken every year

WR-We got 2 that have solid size and are talented. Holmes has speed but is a project. Return man maybe. Overall not great but not bad at all. Randle left early so that part was kind of a curveball

TE-got a blocker and an athletic pass catching guy. Met

OL-Got a top flight OG in Alexander. Edinburgh is a good OT/OG type. Hawkins has more talent than both. He's raw but has star potential. What people are forgetting is that this isn't a huge need. We are stacked on the OL. Tons of bodies here. C was not a need in this class. Have Lonergan and Porter. We are already planning to address C next year.

DE-not a huge need now but planning for possible Monty/Mingo leaving early. Hunter is a stud. Davis has star type talent if he plays here.

DT- Who expected Brockers to go pro this year? Exactly. The coaches didn't plan for this to be a need. It became a small need late and we gave our best effort to the best one in the country. We don't have to have one in this class.

LB-clearly met the needs here

CB-not a huge need but always good to take a couple. Got 3 talented ones. Raymond has 1st round talent

S-Sandopl has talent but I'm not completely sold. We need one. We have guys that can swing to S but we definitely need one.

LS-got arguably the best one in the country.

I only see 2 real needs missed so far in QB and S. DT is not a huge need but we could stand to take one.

defensive tackles for lsu next season

ego, freak, downs, and bennie logan .. chancey agahere could move there too possibly-- 5 is plenty

safties -- loston, reid, martin, micah eugene, sam gibson and vinson

we're fine... we're young... let's take off the coach's hat and have some faith

as hard as that is right now... be confident and know we got this

this past years team was a great mixture of elite players and role players.. this class has one or two elites with a lot of great role players

again, i cannot wait to see them in games

Wrong this class lacks a servicable Quarterback, a defensive end/tackle tweener, a center, and a safety.

a center has been on the commit list for a while. a guy from Georgia, as I recall.

There are still several spots open.

agreed a QB would be nice.

patience.

Bama's class is sick

I don't think we will be as wiped out as people think. Just becasue someone is a good player on our team doesn't mean they will be a projected first rounder as an underclassman. If a guy doesn't project in the first or second round the coaches are going to try and convince him to raise his draft stock. We will lose a couple underclassmen, but the team won't be gutted.

Brockers was an anomaly this year, becasue there are not any absolutely dominant DTs in this draft and he will be the first DT taken.

Not necessarily. We have 3 on campus. I think we will be fine if we get one next year.

This class also lacks star power. A player who is a flat out freak and can be the next big time player.

Ask Mo or TM7 if they think this will be a problem. I guarantee you one or more of these 3* or 4* recruits will bring that star power. We'll be fine as long as next year's class lands back in the top 5.
