QB, Do you know of any other college team with only 2 recruited QBs? Miles moved Randall to WR and we have only Mett and Rivers and Rivers isn't ready yet. Miles needs to start recruiting 2 QBs each year.

Plus if you really want to get down to it a WR that can stretch the field vertically who has some height. All we have a slot guys between 5'10" ans 6'1" that actually will play.

Of course, some of these receivers may end up as CBs, like Claiborne.

has this been proven that randall is playing wide receiver?

If it is a losing mentality, why does lsu continually win.

apparently you guys havent watched lsu football for the past 4 years, we run the ball first (hence 5 legit running backs) and throw the ball only when necessary

we won't get a top notch qb until that mentality changes... with all the spread and west coast offenses today, why would a highly touted PASSING qb in high school pick lsu ?

top notched *high school* qb

mett saw the opportunity to play. if he gains mile's trust, it could be a very fun offense to watch.. and recruits will love it, especially those 18 year old qbs

not yet... if keil really wanted to come here, he would have been here. to me, convinced is signed and on campus

he had zach lee... used us for baseball
he had kiel ... wanted to be closer to home

one good year of passing and truly balanced offense will lure a qb ...

the reason Gunner is not here, is not becasue of LSUs offense. He's not here because of distance. If LSU had #1 offense the country, Gunner would still be living on Notre Dame's campus right now.

It will certainly help, and if LSUs offense struggles with Mett his year, it will really raise eyebrows to HS recruits and allow other coaches to negativly recruit against LSU.

gold.. i am keeping the faith. Just stating the obvious... you wouldn't go to an orthopedic for a head cold, no matter how good a doctor he is.. same virtue holds for a stud high school qb.. you don't want to go to a championship team that passes the ball only 15 times a game... every kid that signs with an LSU type school gets sold on the probability of becoming a professional athlete.. and neither of lsu's qbs this year stand a good chance of making a roster ** as a qb**

So that's an institutional failing? NONSENSE!!! Sure there were coaching decisions which played into our disappointing season finale but in the end JJs and JLs ability to matriculate to the NFL is wholly their own. Guys make it to the NFL from no name colleges all the time BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD ATHLETES!

If you have EVER worked in a team environment surely you know and would agree that you don't work with the tools you DON'T have - you work with what you've got. JJ was a physical athlete but with all due respect he could not spell the word "progressions". If his primary was not there it was up to #9 "Superman" to make it happen, carrying the whole team on his back as he went. Lee was good in the pocket but under pressure he folded like a cheap suit. Mett reportedly can throw a rope 70 yards but was an untested, unproven commodity in 2011 and therefore (rightfully or otherwise - doesn't matter) not tested. I fully expect him to be utilized next year - and it will be a very, very good year indeed!

If someone truly believes they are the best and wants to play for and with the best, LSU is the place to be. No doubt...

Geaux Tigers!

You don't recruit to meet the needs for next year. If teams are forced to do that very often, they have big problems. When you miss on a position in recruiting, it shows 2-3 years down the road.
