is it just me or are they lower than normal? don't hear as much about them as i generally do. wondering if the ncaa look-see into the reggie bush thing is making them "lie low".

Just wait. There will be an avalanche of talent that signs with USC this year.

Yes, they are lower than usual. I'm used to looking at their recruit list and seeing nothing but 4 and 5 star players. Perhaps they are getting a little pressure from UCLA now. Maybe recruits are beginning to think of all those top recruits that will be in front of them on the depth chart and they are not interested in practicing for three or four years before playing. That being said, I expect Carroll and USC to rack up a lot of top players before signing day.

I'm sure they'll get some nice players from CA, but it doesn't look like they will be getting a top 3 class this year.

We are in the running for Seantrell Henderson, Ronald Powell (will battle with UF down to the wire for him), Jackson Jeffcoat, Georgie Uko, Josh Shaw, Robert Woods, Kyle Prater Demetrius Wright, if TAMU really tanks it then Jake Mathews may open back up, Jordan Hicks, Detirch Riley among others.

We probably will not have enough schollies available to land a top 3 class, but we wil bring in top talent without a doubt. We are in it for Powell and Jeffcoat, but even if we miss both, DE is not an issue at all for us. Neither of them are as good as Devon Kennard from last year.

Won't get Henderson, Jeffcoat, Shaw, or Prater. Not sure on the rest.

Prater is going to committ to us on Sept. 2nd. Jeffcoat is up in the air, Shaw is enamored with all these big college towns, but in the end I think we have a good shot. 50%. I and I think he absolutely land Henderson, I am pretty confident about that one. 75% for him.

And of those ten guys, how many do you realistically expect to get?

It's very hard to project, but this is how ThaRinger has them:

Henderson: Minnesota (USC does not seem like a big player)

Powell: USC (barely over Florida)

Jeffcoat: Texas (USC is a player, but Powell and Jeffcoat won't both come)

Uko: 50-50 USC/Oregon

Shaw: Ohio State (slight edge over USC and ND)

Prater: Illinois/USC toss-up at 40/40

Hicks: Texas (USC not rated as a major player)

Riley: USC (barely over Tennessee)

They don't rate odds for Woods and Wright, but of the 10 guys you listed, it would be reasonable to guess about 5 would come.

USC will definitely be in the top 8 (joining Bama, Oklahmoa, Florida, Texas, LSU, Penn State, Georgia in some order), but I see a class similar to last year's group, but with a couple more players.

Jeffcoat to Texas??? They are not even in the mix. It is USC, Oklahoma or ASU.

Henderson himself has said that his top 3 are Florida, Ohio St, and USC. I really do not see him going to UF with their offense so that leaves USC and Ohio St. OT is a position of need in this class and Pete Carroll is the best closer in the game. I expect to see Henderson at USC.

Agree on Uko

With Shaw I think right now he is looking to go out of state, but by sigining day he will have a good chance of landing at USC. May still opt to go to Ohio St for earlier playing time.

Prater is a very strong USC lean

I am not sure where we stand with Hicks

Riley woudl be a USC lean but we are so deep at Safety he may look to go elsewhere. Most think that he is going to live up the recruiting process then committ to USC. Anything is possible.

Woods is a strong USC lean, and many believe a silent commit, same with Wright.

point is, USC fan, you are counting on way too many prospects that are at best 50/50 right now.

They are further back that usual and some of the sheen as come off but they will still end up in top 10, but lower than usual.

link?

I've heard he maybe all OU, you are the only one I've seen say anything about ASU or that USC was a serious contender. Texas is definately still in the mix.
