Believe it, Louisiana is the best football state

quote:

According to a report by USA Football (via the New Orleans Times-Picayune), Louisiana has 80 players on NFL rosters, or one for every 55,862 people in the state.

That echoes the fact that LSU had 42 players on NFL rosters in week 1 (most for any D-1 program). People also forget about Peanut Tillman and Brandon Stokley who also went to LA colleges. As a state at least we have something to be proud of.

This is a given... I love how people say Florida, Texas, and California are where all the talent is... well you have about 14,000,000... 32,000,000... 20,000,000+ people to choose from in each state respectively and Louisiana still is the shite... Love being from there.

yeah im pretty sure we already knew that, but isnt penn like one of the best high school football states? Not to mention the shite ton of players that leave Louisiana to play for other schools. Tulane helps out also.

Wow, that probably makes the next state, Georgia, with a per capita population of well over 110,000 per player as Georgia has over 9.6 million people and Louisiana has 4.4 from 2008 estimates. That's huge when you think about it! California has just over 2.5 times the players in the NFL as La. but at least 8 times the population. Some good genetics going on in the state of Louisiana - gotta love that for a state who's not usually very good in statistical comparisons.
