Parker is way more underrated than Sampson. You could argue Parker is better than Brown and Simpson.

He was not impressive at all in the HS All American game but why was he going to drop before that?

There was speculation for months he wasn't going to make the final roster and get processed.

That is normal movement. Tons of kids evaluated and move up and down the rankings at the end. Anything less than 10 spots is movement based on others moving up not a knock on a particular kid. Sampson and Daughtery are the only legit drops. Jackson, Collins and Yaites moves down were likely due to positional slotting or additions to the position. With the jumps for Heard, Pimpton, Weeks it's a pretty favorable update for us. Better than many years

Don't know about that but there's no way his ranking fits what his film shows.

I like Parker more than Brown and Sampson. I wouldn't be shocked if Brown is sitting behind Parker when they're on campus if they both play slot. I think LSU got a huge steal in this guy, imo. He shows everything on film. Quickness, speed, he has a sudden explosion, very good hands in traffic, etc.

He's been steadily dropping for a while now. Every update they made...he kept getting closer to a 3-star.

It was obvious to me that he wasn't going to end up a 4-star. The All American game is what sent him off a cliff though.

OT Zalance Heard - #15 (+13)Biggest jump from top tier to super elite
DE Dashawn Womack - #36 (-1) Jump from top tier to elite
CB Javien Toviano - #57 (-1)
WR Jalen Brown - #68 (+11) With his constant falling since he got him, glad that his ranking evened out decently enough. Kelly's LSU version of Will Fuller
WR Shelton Sampson Jr. - #83 (-30) Complete fail in rankings of this kid. This is going to be the one from this class that every LSU fan remembers that they messed up on.
OG DJ Chester - #124 (+6)
DE Jaxon Howard - #130 (-7)
TE Ka'Morreun Pimpton - #147 (+121) That snag in the AA game showed off those hands and long arms. Love that he got a ranking that really suits him
LB Whit Weeks - #153 (+84) When he becomes a standout we cant give the scouts crap as they noticed his improvements and overall skill by making him dang near top 150. He was a 3 star when we picked him up and was the 600th ranked recruit.
RB Kaleb Jackson - #179 (-3) This is LSU's next stud RB when he gets healthy. IMO, would have moved up instead of falling back if he hadnt gotten hurt
OT Tyree Adams - #186 (+3)
S Kylin Jackson - #212 (-22) A true thumper in the secondary, we haven't had that in a while. I would have him top 200, but it's good enough
RB Trey Holly - #231 (-8)
TE Mac Markway - #237 (-6) This guy has done nothing but fall since he committed to us. This was a top 100 kid before he committed
QB Rickie Collins - #248 (-16)
S Ryan Yaites - #262 (-11)
WR Kyle Parker - #328 (+25) I constantly see and hear that he is the most ready to play WR we've picked up. Don't be surprised if he finishes top 5-6 in receiving this year
ATH Khai Prean - #405 (-2)
LB Christian Brathwaite - #490 (-1)
CB Jeremiah Hughes - #523 (EVEN)
S Michael Daugherty - #544 (-118)
TE Jackson McGohan - #548 (EVEN)
OT Paul Mubenga - #548 (EVEN)
DE Dylan Carpenter - #570 (EVEN)
CB Ashton Stamps - #618 (-1) This kid is going to really prove his worth. We always have a 3 star DB that doesn't get much talk from the outside that becomes a key cog in the secondary alongside the 5 star and high 4 star studs

How bad was the bama bump this year?

I know that nobody is interested in facts when they talk about the "bama bump" but 247 rates bama's class much lower than other services. Before their pre-signing day flurry, bama was already light years ahead of 2nd place by composite but were actually #2 behind UGA in 247 rankings.

Don't let that stop a good narrative though.
