From a casual observation, it looks like things are going really well

top 5 right now?

We all know it depends on how we close...If we went 7-5 do we feel good about closing and signing these "commitments"?

how many spots do we have left for 2023? What is our highest possible ranking?

and how do we look for 2024?

what is the overall vibe of LSU recruiting?

how would compare it to other coaches or years where we finished strong?

thanks

Not worried at all if we finish 7-5/8-4 first year. That actually makes it an easier pitch in some ways. "See insert recruit name, we're on an upward trajectory from what set back the program, we need you to come in and put us over the top and back in our rightful place."

Kids all think they're the missing piece in a way.

Now if it's year 3 and you're still finishing with 4+ losses, you got problems but I highly doubt that'll be the case.

1. Top 5 -7 Right now pretty good for a transition Year

2. Most of these guys are bought in to BKs vision I don’t think we see a lot decommit there will always be attrition but most of the commits are bought in

3. It’s now up to 85 scholarship players just have to be there think we go around 26-29 HS guys with portal guys as well highest possible would be top 3 depending how we close .

4. 2024 looks good seems like we got a good grasp of all the instate talent plus lead for an Out of state prospect Collin Simmons and in it for more multiple elite guys.

5. Vibe is through the roof for me

6. Could be higher than any of O’s classes

I imagine we see some decommit and others commit just like every season. Season evaluations will have a bit of effect on who we no longer want and who we see shine and offer. We will be fine.

Record doesn't really matter if our NIL deals are solid..

I mean those recruits would love to see us doing well (8-4 to 10-2) but NIL seems to pull them.

Are you referring to A&M here?

Top 10 in Total transition year is good.
Prior trans. yrs
Les- #21, including #1 DT QB Ryan Periloux
O - with all his ties, being on staff #16
So Kelly coming in to this situation, we sit at #6 w/ chance maybe?? Top 5 or 4 max
2024- CBK will lock down state, and be online with Les’s classes albeit those classes were highly ranked but no substance, one class had 4 top 10 safeties
CBK’s classes are building the trenches with high end talent, that’s obliviously what makes good teams elite.

I believe we finish top 5-7.

If we can get 2 stud corners, one more stud OL, and one stud LB, I think we'll be great. I really want Harbor, but I just don't see it realistically. Take a couple flyers on lower tier kids too.

Then after all the evaluations and early attrition, look for transfers in January-March. We might need multiple corners again if we can't get 2 elite corners from high school. We might need a safety as well if nobody shows up this year.

I was very disappointed with the performance of the Tigers but it was a one-point loss to a team we were supposed to beat by 3. Not like losing to Troy State or UAB. Let's not panic. Kelly has recruited well for 2023 and so far has avoided the high number of "decommitments" Coach O experienced.
