SouthOfSouth - you said that well. This has been a very inspiring class.

UNT signed 3 star forward Keith Coleman today and 3 star point guard Hardwick last week.

Unless there is more attrition planned on the team, I would guess Odoh gets cut lose.

Do you have a link for that?

Not doubting you, I would just like to read about it.

If true, this would almost guarantee Odoh to LSU, assuming Johnny wants him.

Coleman is more of a center than a PF, and there would be no reason for UNT to sign two JUCO centers.

After reading up on Coleman, I am starting to think he might be the better if the two..

Need to see if I can find a top JUCO player list, but Coleman sounds a little more ready and less raw that Odoh. Not sure.

Do know that before Neb snapped him up that Fl and UT were sniffing around him.

Odoh has much better stats and is more athletic. Coleman is thicker and more of a wide body. For a running style of play, I think Odoh fits better. Coleman also has 3 years left. It's kind of a moot point, because it wasn't like we had a choice. We were not recruiting Coleman.

This quote doesn't sound like Odoh is in the picture:

quote:

“We are very fortunate to have a player like Keith Coleman coming on board,” Benford said. “He is the missing piece of the puzzle for our team, and he will take a ton of pressure off Tony Mitchell in the paint. Keith is a big, athletic scorer and is known as a great teammate. He is a high-major player that our fans will enjoy seeing for the next three seasons.”

Coleman's averages:

8.0 points, 7.1 rebounds

Pretty damn impressive for a kid that is a 6th man with 2 older bigs in front of him..

I think Odoh gets cut loose, but it depends on if UNT has more attiriton. I would not be surprised to see them at least wait till Monday when grades are due. If the kids that failed a class in the Fall fail this Spring.. there is Odoh's ship

North Texas boards think Odoh is gone.

The only remaining questions are:

Does UNT restrict his transfer? (Unlikely)
Does LSU want Odoh? (likely)

I definitely think that Odoh could be the missing piece for LSU.

That would be a solid three man post rotation of JOB, Odoh and Godfrey. They could also rotate a smaller guy in there, like Coleman, depending on the opponent.

Best case scenario, he plays major minutes and is a rebounding and defensive presence.

Worst case scenario is he plays Malcolm White minutes and gives you depth.

No lose situation, in my opinion. Johnny Jones may disagree and have no intentions of bringing him on, however. We will see.

Bubba I think you should be employed by the recruiting offices. I think you'd bring a lot to the table.

You've been doing pro bono work for months.

Brett Vito ? @brettvito

UNT will not release John Odoh to LSU. Like I just tweeted, Keith Coleman will take his spot.

Brett Vito ? @brettvito

John Odoh will not end up at UNT. Forrest Robinson has been released. PJ Hardwick and Keith Coleman will take those spots.
