Are these guys Auburn locks? I've been invited to at least 5 groups for different recruits like Trovon Reed. War Eagle! Lache Seastrunk. War Eagle! Michael Dyer. War Eagle! My friend is convinced Auburn is going to steal LSU's recruits and have the #1 recruiting class.

Yes. Auburn is pulling out all the stops, and nothing says football powerhouse like renting a Hummer for $100/hr and sticking Auburn decals on it.

Your friend is not a wise man.

But I do hold out hope that we can land Seastrunk.

Question(s):

What makes them "LSU's recruits"? Are no other schools recruiting them? Have they verbally committed to LSU?

What's funny is that some are quick to say that LSU is "not all that", but they get so excited when they "think" that they have gotten one over on "not all that".

If LSU is "not all that", then no one should be excited or surprised when they come out ahead of LSU.

Interested how many fans (no names) get excited about thinking that they have "beat" LSU in some way. It's flattering to us, but sad for them.

Actually, that's to be expected by Bama.

However, it's contagious because the recruiting season really emboldens some programs.

To be named the "leader" by high school juniors in Mar/Apr of 2009 has inspired much "macho bravado" in some fans because they have become very bragadocious and downright antagonistic. Even have a new influx of TD.com registrants in March and April. Coming out swinging.

Be excited for your program, but win a game or two before you come after established programs. I thought it was just going to be the Vols, but they have calmed down significantly. We have some new sheriffs in town.

I read somewhere that Seastrunk's pastor in Texas is pushing him to Auburn becuase the pastor's son is a coach with the War Chickens.

I really think the only place that Trovon and Lache will play together is at LSU.

Bottom line is that they are dreaming when they think they are going to get Reed.

I know Lache has said that Auburn was his favorite recently but I still have huge doubts that he will end up there.

Seastrunk maybe but they have a huge uphill battle on Reed. Only thing that would prevent Reed coming to LSU, would be his mom's passing, IMO. But she did want her son at LSU and he continues to talk about how hard it would be not to go to LSU...

Seastrunk, is a different story but I think hes blowing smoke up everyone's arse, IMO. Won't last long if Auburn sucks balls again this year.

neither of these things are true.

His pastor is very close to both Coach Luper and to Lache but he is not pushing anyone toward any school.
He is a "father" figure to Coach Luper but they are not related.

The pastor came out in one of the Alabama papers and said he never steered anyone to Coach Luper when he was coaching at other schools before coming to Auburn and he is not steering recruits to him now. he said he only steers people to to Christ.

Saying the pastor is recruiting for Auburn is basically accusing him of using his hallowed position for wordly purposes. Please do not go there. Be happy that Lache and his family have someone in his life that is a spiritual guide.

I wish I could find the article from the Birmingham paper that had quotes from Lache's pastor. If anyone saved it please post a link.

I was really feeling Texas but they got full so I had to open my eyes and look other places. They stopped recruiting me the same because I wasn't going to commit early. I wouldn't of minded competing for a spot. We are all freshman coming in and whoever was the best would of got the spot. You have to compete everywhere. But they got full. They're still high on my list, I just have to open my eyes and see what else is out there.

i can't see what auburn has that can pull top recruits in this class. they had a crappy year last year, have a new coach that was a questionable hire, and have concerns with their offense after that tragedy that was called a spread offense last year. i'm curious as to what their pitches are to these recruits.
