I agree but why don’t we start him as a freshman, all we ever hear is this guy is looking good or that good is the most improved on the team (Bradford) and they never see the field, Dumervill was the #9 OT in country and I haven’t heard his name mentioned, he can’t be any worse than what’s going on out there now

Because OL truly ready to play physically and mentally aren't that easy to find. It's becoming more and more "normal" but it's usually been really elite type guys. Even with the issues we have on the OL, imo, if Leigh is staring next year it's likely to mean trouble. He's not ready physically. His ranking is based on upside.
I'm interested to see how many of these Jan 2 "public" commitments will sign early and how many get out before that date. If kids sign early then staffs know. If staffs know then insiders know. Some can't help themselves by keeping quiet. The rumor mill between ESD and Jan 2 is gonna be nuts.

The link from Wiltfong on 247 mentions that Tristan Leigh might sign during the early signing period, but not sure yet.
