I would take him but I really just want that offense! More misdirection and imagination than we have seen from LSU all year in just a couple of minutes of film.

it's funny because everyone says how terrible he is but he was voted team captain at OU without being a starter. always will take leaders in the locker room.

Etling and Knight putting pressure on Harris is a good thing and good for this program. I would welcome him with open arms. It only cost us one spot and if he does not work out then oh well

This. Anyone that disagrees with this is not that smart.

The point is pretty clear. Knight is not a good QB and would not be an upgrade for us.

Dude is worthless for LSU to pursue. If we really believe in him, we should have taken a shot at Kelly. We were afraid of losing Harris. We didn't recruit Haskins and Patterson too hard because we were afraid of losing Franks. Find the QB that can complement your offense and get him. This staff gets caught up in feelings.

Well right now we need good QB play and Trevor Knight ain't it. Does anybody remember Rob Bolden from Penn State? Why do we try to go after the worst transfers on the market?

Does anybody know how many teams were trying to go after that dual threat FCS QB? Michigan and Alabama for one. Two pro style offenses, but he ended up committing to Oregon, which leads me to 2 other things.

1) People say they don't want a dual threat QB, yet when Patrick Towles and Trevor Knight are available, they are all for it? Those guys are worse than we actually have at the position.

2) Dual threats in a pro style offense is not the problem. If they were Saban, Fisher, and Harbaugh wouldn't keep recruiting them for their pro style offense.

We are too caught up in this retarded "SEC caliber" and dual threats in a pro style offense are bad lies. Here is the truth. Two and three star QBs are performing with way more success than our 4 stars and dual threat QBs are performing much better in other pro style offenses.

And Mayfield was a nobody before this season, not like anyone knew, even that coaching staff, he'd put up the numbers he had. He BARELY by the slimmest of margins beat out Knight. Knight had abad season last year, especially for an OU QB which is about as QB friendly as an offense gets. Mayfield walked on to OU.

There is so much fail in this post, I dont know how to address it all.

Allen was the best QB in the conference, Kelly threw way too many picks. Still better than what we had but Harris would probably look better in that system too.

Kelly threw way too many picks? His int rate was 1 for every 35.4 passes. That's on par with Mett in 2013 (1 for every 37 passes). The fact of the matter is that this guy put up 4167 total yards and 37 total TDs in his 1st year starting in college ball and he did it in the SEC West. He completed over 65% of his passes, and averaged nearly 9 yards per attempt.

Yes Harris would have looked better in that system, but that is what it is.

This is silly. Mayfield was not a nobody, you're not even close to being right. He was a true freshman walk on at Texas Tech and had a better season than Harris right now. He was the Big 12 freshman of the year.

If you projected his stats over 13 games, as a true freshman walk on he would have been 64.1% 3762 pass yards 20 TDs, 302 rush yards 5 TDs, with an int rate of 1 int per 39 passes. That int rate is slightly better Mett's int rate (1 int per 37 passes) in 2013 with 2 top 25 NFL WRs, Boone, and Jeremy Hill.

That offense damn sure wasn't QB friendly the last 2 years. Did you even care to research ANYTHING?

Mayfield transfered because Tech wouldn't give him a scholarship before the new school year so he went to Oklahoma. People had been saying for the longest (me included), that Mayfield was already the best QB on that team by the time he got there. It was evident in practice both offseasons as who was better.
