"A big name in the SEC is about to hit the transfer portal"
Any ideas? I was thinking Bigsby, maybe Trey Sanders, maybe Arik.

Would not be surprised if it’s Arik with all the Tennessee smoke.

There is speculation Bigsby will enter the transfer portal.

I’d be totally ok with Gilbert going to TN if he doesn’t stay here

It won’t be Georgia, they have Washington, and they already under utilize him. And I doubt Florida, with the drama that’s surrounding them. He can go anywhere in the world, but f this whole planet if he goes to Alabama.

They gotta be full tho, right? RIGHT?

Ncaa passed the one-year eligibility rule but the SEC still hadn’t ruled on intra-conference transfers and if they’d be immediately eligible

I don’t know, honestly. Every time I think I understand the rules, Alabama has them rewritten in their favor.

Is anyone dumb enough to think Gilbert comes back to LSU?

This is the key. I believe this is why Gilbert isn’t already in the portal. I think he and his family are keeping the option of coming back here open rather than burning the bridge before the SEC makes this decision. If they don’t allow in-conference one-time waivers and he doesn’t want to sit for a year, he would have to leave the SEC. There are only 2-4 power programs he would likely consider and there’s no guarantee they will have room.

I don’t know what the odds of him coming back here would be, but it’s a smart play on their part to not close the door before things play out.

If Bama is full (and I think they are now), he would have to sit a year, no matter what. Transfers count against the 25 (or greater with back-counting) if they are immediately eligible.

I wish we knew the real story on Gilbert

Ive heard everything from mojo to mental health. I believe he thought this year would go exactly like the championship year and when it didn't he pouted and bailed

Arik has mamba mentality in his profile. Found that pretty funny

I doubt we’ll ever know. And if you’re theory is true, I hope the staff tells him to hit the fricking portal, no matter what.

As for Bama, he would have to play behind Billingsly even if he was somehow immediately eligible. UGA has a similar TE, as well. Maybe that’s why there’s been rumors of UT.

And Washington looks like he enjoys blocking.
