I had convinced myself that Emmanuel Moody would get a real shot at being a traditional RB at UF to try to take the load off of Tebow. Yeah, I was wrong.

me too

i mean they developed their lil system and took it to a new level by adding depth with rainey/demps

but why the hell do they go after real RBs?

and why do real RBs even listen?

Why do people go to CUM's offense to begin with? All you ever hear is NFL scouts criticizing it and dropping stock on their players. Harvin is borderline first round pick because they don't even know if he can be a pure receiver in the NFL.

Their speed is so scary... I honestly think the way to go about stopping them is virtually the same gameplan that was used against the Rams in the Faulk days. Basically, don't allow the runningbacks to ever make it out of the backfield without taking a beating.

It's not done nearly enough at the college level, but basically your Mike linebackers and DEs have to put runningbacks on their butt. Rainey and Demps aren't built to take the sort of beating that they should be getting game-in and game-out.

Winning in college is just as important to a lot people...especially anyone with some confidence in themselves. If you have the talent to go into the next level, it will usually show. I would be really surprised if Harvin didn't go in the first round.

That being said, getting Trent would be a huge coup. I can't imagine the Bama hate that would come from not only stealing their national title chances, but their prized recruit...

Personally I would almost take Gillislee first for the UF offense though...
His highlights from the first four weeks of this year: ...........

whoops, this years highlights (from first 4 weeks): LINK

Bama played the best game they played the entire year in the SECCG, and considering Harvin wasn't available, it's scary how dangerous that UF offense was.

As for the OU game, I completely agree... I thought UF would walk all over the Sooners, but OU shot themselves in the foot with those two redzone abortions in the first half.

Wouldn't you give credit to the UF defense before you criticize their offense?

I agree that in conservative battles (when our offense can't run wild) moody gets a lot more of the runs.

Oh, don't get me wrong UF's defense played out-of-their-minds good. But some criticism has to fall on the OU offense and playcalling.

Florida has won 2 nc's in 3 years, there are no holes at Fla. Florida runs the spread, they don't have a power running game. If he doesn't go to bama, I could see him going to lsu before Florida.

I think tr's comment about his Florida visit being a perfect ten was aimed more at the coeds CUM threw at him than the school itself.

Trent will look real good in orange and blue...and he will compliment our offense. Plus he is like a lot of great recruits...they wanna win championships and if a player wants to do that...best to come over to Gainesville and win.
Remember our defense returns ALL 11 starters and 16 out of the 2 deep on defense were frosh and sophs....can you say dynasty? Better check out Andre Dubose's video clips and you will see a lot of points scored by after Tebow is gone and btw Brantley has a lazer arm....and our recruit Reed is a stud running/throwing qb.

TR would not be smart to go to Florida. Meyer does NOT USE RBs like him - EX. Moody. He would much rather some fast scat back like Rainey or Demps...and that's why those 2 guys start and get the majority of the carries, even as freshmen. If TR had any sense he wouldn't even have Florida in the picture. He would ride the pine there along with Moody their rest of their career.

Although, you know Meyer fed him some line of bullshite how he would end up like Emmitt Smith at Florida and start right away and beat out all 3 main returning guys in the two freshmen Rainey/Demps and sophomore Moody...etc...Also wouldn't surprise me if he feds complete lines of BS how he wouldn't play at LSU or Bama and our staffs wouldn't develop him properly...

I do laugh at Gator fans who think Brantley will be incredible. Not saying he won't be good but they are so incredibly spoiled by Tebow it's getting obvious. Brantley will never win a heisman or be in the picture for 3 heismans like Tebow. Brantley is nothing like Tebow and they will definitely see a dropoff. Heck, once all these young guys graduate they'll likely go through another year like 2007...and that's when they had a heisman at QB. Imagine what it will be like with Brantley.
