Well this thread would be a little different if it wasn't open to the public and anyone (including recruits) can see. You never know, this can rub someone the wrong way...#imjustsaying

1) LF obviously
2) Quille/Dupre and noil(would be lower if Landry or OBJ returned but most seem to think they will leave. Not to mention breaking in a new starter at QB, you gotta have some guys to make plays for him. Love the 2 big guys cant go wrong with either. And Noil as a slot... "Hey speedy, just run across the middle of the field as fast as you can and Jennings I want you to throw it to him")
3)Garret (please come and come in as early as you can, we NEED you to replace Welter)
4)Hootie/Adams (please just give us one, I'm having nightmares of Martin unable to keep up with Howard)
5)Paris/Brown/Adoree (we need a nickel back badly, Mills ain't doing so hot there. Not gonna choose one over another because I like them all for their different skill sets.)

ETA: didn't even put GWIII on there... shite, we need them all!

Hmmm, I actually thought of that and tried to make it as innocent as possible. I assume any LSU prospect has seen for example the huge hole at MLB. I would doubt any of those would be insulted by us putting Garrett near the top for example. In fact, if I was a secondary prospect who wanted to come to LSU, especially a safety, I would say, "Please, please LSU sign Garrett because otherwise I might have to try to make all the tackles past the LOS."

Once again, I specifically said this wasn't even ranking best 5 players. I see what you are saying but I have to disagree to any possible negative impact. Even Willis who I did not put up there, I said I don't doubt his talent for a second and obviously I would take the guy in a NY second on NSD! And clearly WRers are a HUGE need but once again, LSU is recruiting multiple WRers so who do you put up there and who do you leave off. I put Fournette and Garrett at the top for a simple reason...if you don't get those guys for those in need positions, got a replacement name for me?

2 tamu recruits predicted speedy to tamu. One of them predicted several other players including dupre and fournette to lsu, while the recruit's only prediction was speedy to tamu

Im not saying anything, just take it for what you think its worth
Players can predict other players on 247 now if you didnt see that thread yesterday

X-Man was an outlier, from a character/contribution standpoint. Bennie didn't exactly pan out, but I liked the kid - he was always trying to get better and be a leader. TH was an absolute beast on returns. Eddie Kennison was the best all around football player (in the modern era), who also ran track. Chris Cummings, although he never learned the cornerback position from a "skill" standpoint, was an unrelenting, punishing and extremely fast special teams weapon - underrated in his time at LSU because of his weakness as a true cover corner (I'm not sure why they didn't try to make him a safety - his hands weren't good enough to play offense or return kicks, but man he would bring the wood as a gunner.)

For the most part, LSU has done well with its track/football combos.

Is Peppers still predicting Fournette to Michigan like he guaranteed after he committed there? Wait, a better question now that Michigan's recruiting is on life support after the loss of Hand...is Pappers still predicting HIMSELF to go to Mmmmmiiiiiccccchhhhhiiiiggggaaannn as Tim Brando would say?

I agree with this. Was it is an interesting topic for discussion, it has the potential to go very, very badly.

Recruits read this board, as do rival fans and maybe even staff members of other schools.

Now is it a Sure thing that a post that says "player x is more important than him" or that he's not in the five most important or even top 12 and decide to go somewhere else? No of course not. But why take the chance.

If it causes us to lose one recruit, even if a small factor it's not worth it.

Hard to call a "sleeper" in this class, but "relatively unheralded" might be the tag we put on Brown, when all is said and done.

(And I am super stoked about Garrett, FTR).

Tonys an elite corner AND an elite athlete. Anybody that's seen his film can see that.

Idk why thinking that a kid with Olympic potential pursuing a track dream is such a crime. But it's y'all's opinions just like mine.

Cadello, are you saying you he won't go to the Olympics? Kid has said multiple times that is his biggest dream.

Also in regards to players on 247 making picks, dupre' teammate had an interesting pick for his college choice. As did all the A & M commits saying speedy was going there

1. LF - Obvious reason

2. Dupre - We havent had a WR of his caliber at LSU ever, or in a long long time. His size, leaping ability, and how he catches the ball is eerily similar to AJ Green. And most likely losing Juice and OBJ. And he has the skill set to be effective, regardless of what kind of QB we have. All our QB needs to do with a guy like Dupre is just toss it up to him. Picked him ahead of Quille due to the fact that Quille might be here for just 1 year.

3. GWIII - With the way our DL has played this year, we need all the help we can get. He has the size and ability to play inside or outside and play immediately.

4. Clifton Garrett - He will be the best MLB we ever got if we do indeed get him. Weakest spot on our D is the MLB spot. Immediate upgrade with Garrett

5. Hootie - Our Safetys suck. PERIOD. Pretty much the same with GWIII and the DL but with the safety position.

Only used guys we have a legit shot of landing.

And every recruit is important. Not choosing 1 player over another player. Also think Brumfield is extremely overlooked because hes been committed for a while and keeps quiet. Kids a mauler at OG.

I guess this is the age of political correctness. You honestly, sincerely, really think that because such and such was listed as #6 instead of #5 by a fan or two, that prospect would just say no to LSU. Wow, just flat out wow! I tell you what might scare someone away more than my topic. That you honest to God just posted what you did. Talk about a paranoid fan! Wow, just wow!

I agree with you about the OL...you last thought. I am VERY concerned about getting a 3rd OL. Of course everyone wants OT, but even another OG or a C, anyone that can contribute. I believe LSU only signed 4 in 2013 class and 1 of those is a JUCO who has played this season...so he is only around for 1 more year.

IF I had a specific name of a great OL that I knew was really interested in LSU, that would have been a great name to put there also. I still believe games are won mainly in the trenches...OL and DL. The reason LSU lost the 2 of the 3 games so far this season was that LSU lost the LOS in the Alabama and Mississippi games. The Georgia game, not so much.
