don't think he ever really looked at us very hard.

Seems like he spent way more time out west and talking about other schools. Getting Blakeney was probably icing on the cake.

Still 100% believe we get him if Blakeney committed elsewhere. He see's the depth chart and wants to play right away despite not being ready for HM ball (on a good and winning team).

Absolutely. LSU only dropped off once Blakeney committed.

Yeah, Lott would definitely be a project here but I was thinking that his athleticism could make him an asset as a rotation guy. 6"3 as a PG is not small at all and I love his physicality at about 190 or so. But he is definitely a mid-major guy at this point with the potential to develop into a really solid high major player, which is the type of player that we don't seem to be taking right now. I'm not complaining though- it just shows how strong our recruiting is at this very moment because of Benny and I really hope we can keep that momentum going a year from now when those guys are looking to jump to the nba. Anyone interested in starting a thread for the 2016 prospects? I know it's a bit early but it would be nice to start identifying who those guys are.

Personally i think getting guys who are projects and guys who are blue chip guys are equally important. Blue chip guys get you eyes on, but you have to have guys who can play for 4 years and contribute in any way possible.

We took two projects last year. Patterson turned out to be way better, and now Elbert falls under that tag.

That's supposed to be this thread too.

When this recruiting year is over, I'm going to convert it to a 2016 thread. We'll never need another bball recruiting thread again, unless I get banned again.

Why are we getting so many cb's for Lott? Is the staff going after him harder now or are these people just clueless and figure bc he is from la he is gonna go to lsu

Combination of LSU going to take another wing and losing Sampson. He's probably the 2nd guard on the board right now.

Well, Tone destroyed his game tonight. Went for 50/10 and shot 86%, 75% from three, and 100% from the line. This kid is kinda good at basketball.

Lyle, Simmons, Blakeney, Gray, Hornsy, Martin, Mickey, Victor, Quarterman--this team could be very good if it returns just one of the M&Ms.

As much as I love this incoming class with Simmons, Blakeney and hopefully Lyle, I wish we had more frontcourt depth coming in because if we lose Mickey, we will be hurting at the center position next year unless Malone can get better quickly or Elbert becomes quicker

Hopefully a graduate transfer will become available to give us some more size

That's why Craig Victor was so important...

Malik Newman, what are our chances, if any?
5%? 10%?

I remember he made a visit a while back and said he liked what he saw. But wasn't JOB "recruiting" him since they played AAU ball together in MS?

Sampson was never coming here the moment Blakeney committed

What we need to do is start up a collection plate for Thon Maker

I got 5 on it. Get him and Lyle and we are set to win this all. The modern day fab 5. Not sure how they classify Victor.
