What kind of offense do they run?
He averaged 33 passes per game
quote:
What's his yards per attempt look like?
Total Passing Yards 2736
Passing TDs 23
Passing Yards/Game 273.6
Pass Completions 158
Pass Attempts 333
Interceptions 5
8.22 yards per attempt
quote:
What about adjusted completion percentage?
Adjusted Completion Percentage = (Completions + Drops) / (Pass Attempts – Spikes – Throwaways – Batted Balls – Balls disrupted by a QB hit)
Yeah....let me get right on that.

You also need to consider that one of those games (vs Denham Springs) accounted for 601 passing yards on 23 of 39 passing and 7 TDs.

Good info
That's a pretty high YPA. It would have been top 30 in college football last year. It drops to 7.26 if you take out DSHS, but I think it's a little unfair to take out his best game without also taking out his worst.
Haha. Come on. Don't be lazy

quote:No. Harris had horrible accuracy. I don't know what the "mechanics" comment was referring to, but Finley has a relatively short and effortless throwing motion. He is accurate, but maybe inconsistent?
Is this not the same thing we said about Brandon Harris tho? Has all the physical skills and just needs some college training? What were the red flags about Harris that Finley doesn’t have? Not trying to roast Finley, I like him but the whole Harris flop just makes me skeptical of these big-armed, low-mechanics recruits

Harris could throw it a long ways, but couldn't hit a golf cart at distance and was worse at short throws.

Finley is able to throw some dimes. He appears to be accurate with time.

So what’s your thoughts on Max Johnson’s completion percentage? You know the guy whose father was an NFL QB. Seems no one is too worked up about that. And you do know our starting QB this year completed less than 60% of his passes.

Since you asked, it is also very bad
And Peter parrish was bad too

Finley has had a really really good today so far
Oh noooooooo! The Never Findleys wouldn’t like that! They’ve already dismissed him as a viable QB. They have already assigned him to offensive or defensive line. He's incapable of improvement. He’s too tall and too big. He’s too slow. He’s inaccurate. He wasn’t smart enough until it was known his mother is a doctor. At least they can’t claim he’s a dual threat, which once was a fatal descriptor for many until Burrow and King.

Against non-SEC defenses as well. And he is an SEC QB you know.

Why do people get so frickin butt hurt when fans simply play the percentages and form an opinion, get the frick over

Yes it sounds like that is the potential. He is a step quicker than Jamarcus ever was. And we should remember Jamarcus being able to pick up first downs with his legs when he absolutely had to. It already appears he has more work ethic than Jamarcus had. He just needs college training and direction to get to the next step. Sign me up as a believer in TJ!

Yeah it is OK to be wrong I suppose LOL!

247:
New Faces Break Through on Day 2 of The Elite 11Finals
1. TJ Finley, Commited to LSU (#9 Pro-QB)
The LSU commit was hyper aggressive and was most willing to take shots, decisively driving the ball into tight windows. No player had more touchdowns or highlight throws during the red zone session. Finley has the strongest arm in Frisco and was able to showcase his high-level velocity throughout the session. He got going by hitting an impressive back shoulder fade down the right sideline for a touchdown and followed that up with a rollout touchdown and a post across the middle. Though he had a misfire or two, Finley impressed with his willingness to let it rip without hesitation. Sunday was a setting that worked to the big pocket passer’s strengths — working from a stationary position and letting his arm talent take precedence. While we’d still like to see more from him in terms of movement and consistency over a large sample, Finley showed his considerable arm talent and nice upside. - Charles Power

Past history? What past history? Keep talking.
What about current history? Like the Elite 11.

LSUs approach to recruiting QBs has been less that stellar.Size ,arm strength and athleticism doesn’t always equate to a good QB in college

The three most recent LSU QBs that resemble Finley (Rohan, Jamarcus and Mett) all had pretty damn strong careers.

You have to excuse Justustme2, he's one of those racist behind every tree kind of guy's. I admit that I had concerns about Finley's accuracy in the beginning. After watching some of his passes those fears have been eliminated. LSU is in as good a position concerning QBs as they've been in a long time. I'm confident that either Max or Finley will be the QB or both will be the QB LSU needs.
Finley's mechanics issues can be addressed here without cries of racism.
