Thon himself told me he was 7 feet tall, and doesn't want to grow anymore.
He said once he hit 7 feet he was Content.

Country day is a vey weak program in a very weak district with mighty Ecole Classic (think that's how you spell it).
I knew darenbecker was grossly overrated
And if TJ had been doing his job he would not have offered!
Years ago county day put their whole team in AAU we beat them by 60 points! (it was Jr high level kids)
If he wants to develop switch to St aug

Well we know someone's an idiot with no clue as to what they are blabbering about.
"Weak program" CD has repeatedly been in the finals in the last several years, including winning it all after beating teams like Riverside and Reserve Christian.
CD regularly plays (and often beats 5A) teams every year. They play (and have beaten) Curtis, Jesuit, Brother Martin, and St. Aug. Derenbecker, for all his faults, was one of three players capable of scoring double digits at LSU when he was there. In a more stable environment at Dayton, he's going to look MUCH better. Derenbecker's junior year at CD, Cd BEAT Kenny Boynton's high school team and Derenbecker dropped 49 points.
I'm curious how Country Day particpated in an AAU tournament as a high school team, too. I think its fairly obvious you're full of shite

Apparently he might be switching to Riverside. His mom toured the school the other day. He has been to some Riverside games and I think that's cause he wants to play with his AAU teammate Khalea

High school competition level has no bearing on anything in basketball recruiting. Anyone who says that a basketball player is overrated because of the level their high school plays at is immediately discredited and can be ignored in all future posts.
Thon Maker is currently playing in the EYBL league for summer basketball, which is the highest level possible. He is playing all summer against players who will be in the NBA in two years. He could not play high school basketball at all and it would have no bearing on his recruitment.

I know that if he were to change schools, it would be riverside. He potentially could stay at cd for his whole highschool career, and I know his dad really likes country day, but I wouldn't be surprised if he went to riverside for his junior year. Now the only downside to this is that he would have to sit out a year. But then he would come back to the best highschool basketball team in the country.

If Thon Maker goes to Riverside. They will be the best team in the country in 2-3 years. No doubt about it.
Go look at numerous rankings and you'll see the house a couple of the top 8th and 9th graders.
As far as Thon playing in the EYBL being against the best talent I will have to disagree. A lot of top guys play there but take the Louisiana Select for example (they are terrible but are the NIKE team in Louisiana). They don't have one of the top 5 players in the state (if top 10). A lot of guys are playing for Adidas and Reebok sponsored teams now.

Not trying to put your team down or anything, but that was probably country days worst team since the beginning of the decade. And as bad as the district is, country day hasn't lost a district game since around 2003.

The EYBL has some of the best talent in the country, no question. I didn't say they have all of it. Because of the shoe sponsorships, the talent is spread around.
There is major talent in the EYBL.

looking at the class of 2016 list and I see two guys, Thon Maker and Khalea Turner as the top 2 both from NOLA, Wayde Sims (son of Wayne?) from BR, Malik Crowfield, Kajuan Johnson from Shreveport.... can anyone give a rundown on these guys besides Maker? HS, type of player, SEC material or not...
Posted on 5/14/12 at 11:10 am to Elleshoe
Maker, Turner, Crowfield and Johnson all play for DunkDog I think. They are #1 team in the country. Sims plays for Sports Academy. I would think all 5 are SEC material.

Very true. If I recall correctly, Anthony Davis's school in Chicago was terrible and won something like12 games in the last two years he was there
