LSU will host two official visitors this weekend as two critical positions of need in the 2019 class. Steele, a top-30 prospect nationally, previously made his way to Baton Rouge in January. This time, he’ll be making his second official visit of the month after stopping at Oklahoma last weekend.
LSU is looking to reel in at least four cornerbacks in the class, with 4-star Maurice Hampton the lone committed. The team will likely look out-of-state for one of those corners to pair with 5-star Derek Stingley Jr. and 4-star Devin Bush, LSU leans that’ll also be in attendance for the spring game. Sources have linked Steele to LSU, though Southern Cal is deemed the heavy favorite.

Priority targets such as Stingley, Starks, Pickering, Bush, Palmer, Lee and Parker are also extremely noteworthy. Equally as significant is Blades’ visit. Blades, the top junior college cornerback, will be making his first visit to Baton Rouge. He was the No. 15 corner in the country back in 2017. He signed with Nebraska but opted to take the junior college route. LSU is a team standing out early for the 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect.
quote:
Louisiana has a very talented group of 2020 prospects that LSU’s coaching staff has early offers out to and is still evaluating. Burrle, Clayton and Guillory have all visited LSU in the past, but it’s an encouraging sign to get them back on campus again at the end of the spring. Abrams-Draine, one of two wide receiver verbals in the 2020 group, will return to campus for the first time since his March commitment.

Pickering...big time prospect and one of my biggest wants for the class. Would be especially important if Sopsher hops on the bandwagon after deciding that he wants to betray his home state.

I thought Chester Kimbrough was lighting up the camps. I guess there won't be room with those four. But after the Surtain debacle, I sure would rather take a 4 star from N.O. over an out of state kid just because I feel there is a better shot of them committing and sticking. Oh well, have to wait and see what happens, but still a little nervous from previous snake bites.

that's one that would look really really really bad to lose.

Would it though? Everyone knows how Amite is.

top ranked player in the state as a dline man? that is the kind of guy O has to land.

I agree, but it's not like Bama doesn't beat other programs for top prospects either.

don't care. it's an awful look if your defensive line guru coach can't land a local kid.
