If UGA beats Bama in the championship game, Surtain doesn’t go to the Bama championship parade, and LSU signs Surtain.

Under your scenario, it is really the fault of....
1- EsPN serving as the defacto Alabama PR Department
2- the inept selection committee which put a team that finished 3rd in it's conference in the game
3- the officials who mysteriously call an offsides that negates a blocked punt....while ignoring three false starts.....and then continues to provide the Gumps with all the help they need
4- Saban's buddy Emmert who looked the other way while the Gumps cheated to build their program.
I'll cut UGA a little slack. They're fighting the same thing everyone else is.

Heck I go back to the CFP selection. I said it then, this is why LSU can’t catch up. Bama fields one of their more vulnerable teams and still gets in.
