And I'm not sure they will be able to find one this late in the game. They flirted with the kid that went to ND and the Isaac kid, but nobody else seriously that I can think of.

I realize they don't grow on trees, but other than Chaisson (who may not be the same guy when he returns) this is an area of concern to me.

Pass rushers are so important.

Brooks will be 230 lbs in a few years and be that guy.

For next year, they need either Moore to learn the playbook or Anthony to be what we thought he could be before he hurt his foot.

I still consider Brooks a Buck...he's listed at OLB, and that kid on here that knows him said he's like 6'4" 220 and jumping over cars right now.

Brooks is too light to be the kind of guy I’m talking about. I see Brooks more like a Delpit type who could play S or OLB. Kid only weighs like 200 right now.

I’m talking a true 3-4 OLB in the 225-240 range like Chaisson who can hold his own against a tackle and rush the passer.

I see Ish and Young as hand in the dirt SDE.

Really liked Myron Warren out of Many. Seemed like a guy who wouldn't play right away but develope into a legit starter

He has visited, if I'm not mistaken.

There was chatter several months back about him and LSU, but that died down. 247 has him favoring Miami.

You're sure? I have no idea. I think that other kid on here that goes to HS with him said he's more.

Idk for sure. Kid is super lean. 20 lbs is a big difference though for HS senior with negligible fat.

Arden Key weighed all of 210-215 coming out of high school at 6’6” and Chaisson was listed at 220 and 6’4” but didn’t look like he was even close to that. Not sure if you think that there’s a big surplus of kids who are 6’5”, 240, and extremely athletic coming out of high school or something but Brooks is already as big as Arden Key was and could easily fill out and turn into a really good pass rusher

Completely agree with you. It's a must we take one every year. I also don't see Brooks as that guy. Hes more Jacoby Stevens to me athletically and may never get that big. We needed Kevin Harris, Bogle, the Mensah kid going to ND, Isaac or someone like them. Basically a WDE. We have none and not sold on Anthony or the TX kid we took before Chiasson to take his spot when he leaves. We need to pressure without a DB blitzing in order to do so.

Glad to see someone else agrees with me!

We had three at U-High that could have filled that position...all 4 stars, all ranked top 10 nationally at their respective positions and this staff struck out on all three...it's the only recruiting failure, so far, of our staff in a top 5 class if we land Sophser…

And, as many have said, "you can't get-em all", especially when they are fixated on leaving the state...

Maybe O can find a "diamond in the rough" or Juco Guy...he pulled a couple of great transfers out of his arse last year...he has two months until February to try.

Maybe the "shrimp boat captain" can surprise us and fill this blaring need...I hope so!

I agree. Great edge rushers can change the game with one play or at least having the qb second-guessing himself, which could lead into a turnover. Look at some of the great college edge rushers in the past like Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett or Barkevious Mingo and they've shown the impact an edge rusher can have in a game!

There were two legit ones in Baton Rouge. I'm not sure why we didn't go after them.

You know as well as I do that SDE are DTs for 3-4 defenses like ours and Bama's and we need WDE/OLB hybrids for this particular need...as pass rushers. And, with who we have landed at LB in 2019, we only need one WDE/OLB for 2019.

Right now, as far as I can see, the staff is recruiting SDE/DTs, not WDE/OLB hybrids...
