Not everyone gets to put on the purple and gold… “path to the Boot” refers to everything a recruit does to get to that point.

I don't know if it's so much that I cringe, but it just makes no sense. What path? You either come here or you don't. "Path to the championship" would at least make sense, implying that all recruits are helping build toward that goal. Path to the boot just isn't inspiring to me, and I can't imagine any kids get anything out of it either.
