He probably signs w/ Auburn, but I don't see LSU giving up on him and would upset if they did.
Agreed. I foresee him being a bad-arse Brad Lester-type RB @ Auburn. But I can guarantee you that LSU will not give up recuiting the shite out of this kid.

I have been out for a while fellows what happened to LS> He was lock to us when we passed on Christian Michaels. Now he is a lock for Auburn. What a difference a day makes.

It still is amazing to me that Texas only has one Big12 title since MB got there.

It's a long time to signing day, we are certainly in it.
AU is going to faceplant. Bad.

Malzahn is recruiting him on look what I did for McFadden, Felix Jones
Those guys were successful once they stopped running Malzahn's offense. I don't know whether it was Nutt or whether it was Malzahn who decided to cut out the QB altogether...but that certainly wasn't Malzahn's typical offense.

I've also seen Seastrunk say Auburn has a history of putting RBs in the NFL, so whatever Auburn is telling him, he's eating it up
This staff had nothing to do with Bo Jackson or the Brown/Williams combo. Lache sounds a little gullible.

this is the attitude that has long kept texas out of the MNC picture
What about last year? They should have been in the NCG, clearly. And Florida beat OU by the same amount that Texas did...by 10 points.

For us to miss on Seastrunk will be huge one. What are our back up plans for RB this year. I see where we have some homegrown kids for next years.

We take Storm Johnson, which gives us Ridley, Ford, Murphy, and Johnson.
We won't have quite as much speed...but Richard Murphy should probably see more time. That backfield would be serviceable.
Then we get Hilliard in the next class. Problem solved.

Malzahn's Tulsa offense was 4th in the nation last year in rushing. Their leading running had over 1500 yards. Curtis Luper(AU's new RB coach)coached the 6th leading rusher in the NCAA at OK St. last year(Kendall Hunter) and he coached the 17th leading rusher in the nation the year before at OK St.(Dantrell Savage). So it's not like these guys don't know anything about running the ball or coaching RB's

People talk about Tulsa stats like they mean something. Gimmick offenses work in gimmick leagues. Hawaii was putting up major stats two years ago. They sucked.

Florida has a gimmick offense and they won it all.
Posted on 6/9/09 at 7:18 pm to Texaswill
florida runs a legit spread option with a classic spread passing game
malzhan sprinkles in spread option but runs it more like texas tech does, but his spread passing is a deep passing game
that's a worry

I'm going to go on a limb and say you've never seen Tulsa play?? There is no comparison in what Tulsa does and what TTU does.

My point wasn't to say that Malzahn will put up the same type of numbers against SEC competition but to show that a RB in his offense can put up big numbers and that his offenses do run the ball. Tulsa passed for 4226 yards last year and rushed for 3752, that is pretty balanced. Tulsa rushed for 183 yards(528 total yards) against Arkansas last year, LSU rushed for 161 yards(301 yds total) against Arkansas.

That settles that

Tulsa doesn't run their offense like Tech's. Tech only had 1500 yards rushing compared to Tulsa's 3300. Tech's offense is 70% passing while Tusla offense is balanced.

It's too early to say Lache probably signs anywhere. LSU has everything that a bigtime RB recruit like Lache would want in terms of immediate playing time along with being a much stronger team than Auburn.

Of course LSU is still in it. It's June. Auburn is leading for the guy, and everything he says points to him going to Auburn, but once again: It's June. Anything can happen.
That being said, Lache has been making several attempts to "recruit for Auburn" by calling other top players around the country, and combining that with the several compliments and severe praise being given to Auburn; Auburn fans feel good about landing him.

LSU fans have been saying this for the last 5 years. But when the two teams meet on the field, if LSU wins, they have to fight and claw their way to a victory. That includes last year when Auburn had a horrible season. Auburn virtually have their entire team back from last year and they'll be better on offense
But of course, I'm sure all LSU fans think they're going to truck Auburn this year
