Because there are 17 5-stars in the country.

TEs usually dont get 5 stars unless they are a physical freak.

There has been 2 5 star TEs since 2005 per riavls. Martellus Bennet and Kyle Rudolph.

stars dont matter to me if we get arguably the best players at their position....guys that are top 10 at their positions are 5 stars in my book at this point in their development.....the rest is a roll of the dice depending on many factors to see if they pan out and keep improving

I don't care that much for ratings but since that is a popular deal and at least quantitative, I will point out that Rivals always starts off with about half the number of 5* they eventually assign. I think the number is 17 now...watch, it will probably end up around 32 5* at the end. Of the last verbals/possible verbals for LSU, I would list the following as most likely as the possible 5* . If I had to pick one, I would take Pocic as most likely because they love OT and he is right at the usual cutoff point already (#36)

Pocic - verbal
Rickey Jones - recruit
T Williams - recruit
Vanderdoes - recruit
Goodman - recruit

We will have sound from Mr. Smith tonight on KPLC 7 Sports at 6 and 10 and I will try to post a video link here later.

If you have no idea who the hell I am, click here or here.

Well spoken guy. I didn't see the spring game so I don't know how much the offensive philosophy changed or did not change. I would be shocked however if the EXECUTION in the passing game isn't much better. To be honest, the last 4 years, when the QB went back to pass, I was just hoping the pass wouldn't be intercepted or the QB sacked. With Mettenberger after watching him in the NC JUCO game, when he goes back, I expect a completition. That isn't offensive philosophy...that is execution.

Great link. Sounds like a good kid.

Because they only go to Alabama and USC.

Actually, someone gave the correct answer IMO earlier. He claimed that in the last 7 years only 2 5* went to TEs. Using Rivals as I usually do in such things, if everything were equal, you have say 33 5* each year. There are 22 positions on offense and defense. IF they were spread the same, in 7 years you should have had about 10 or 11 5* TEs...you had 2. That pretty much says it all.
