Surtain Sr. Rumors

I’m seeing people say that we are trying to hire him. Is this just fantasy chat murmur? Or are we actually trying to hire Pat Surtain as an assistant? Perhaps safety coach? Just trying to elucidate

He is a well respected coach. Was a stud in his day too. I wouldn’t mind, as long as it doesn’t interfere with us signing his son

He played at Karr. Maybe he could be our ace in Nola recruit's homes.

I would love to have him at safety coach but they should move now. He may be able to bring in Tyson Campbell.

Yep. I'm not sure about his recruitment, but on paper he seems like another 90s "miss" for LSU. He went to Southern Miss and played himself into one of the league's elite db's after being a 2nd round pick.

Pat was a QB at Karr. Played with Noel Ellis Sr. Every SEC school missed on him, just like the SEC schoolsawanted MarshallFaulk only as a DB.

To the naked eye this is a good sign but the only thing that worries me with the crystal ball is the most up to date picks with the most respected analysts typically come with a day or two left until signing day. Alot of picks are out of date.

With Saban going hard after Eddie Smith Jr, I'm wondering if this means he's not as confident in PS2. Smith's dad just posted the offer letter as it came in a couple of weeks ago and now Saban went in home the other night.

SEC schools all were recruiting him as a DB. He wanted to play QB in college since that is what he played in high school and So. Miss. promised to give him a shot. He practiced about two days at QB and they moved him to DB. I heard him tell that story once.

They can change them you know? Honestly the trustworthy pickers are likely waiting for the visit high to wear off and then vet their sources to see what they think. At that point the picks will either remain or change. Only one I care about is Tim Watts. If he puts his pick in for Bama then it's over.
