per DD. I like this move, if true. Auburn seems sort of out of the picture at this point, and although a long shot, I like our chances against the other schools (outside of USCe). Wasn't he high on us earlier, but we didn't pursue him as much as we did other prospects?

I don't think that's true at all from what has been said recently.

Ross, I like you, but you have to stop listening to AU boards. I admittedly do not know anything about the situation with Lattimore, but consider this:

AU's biggest selling point is early playing time. They just signed Dyer (Nice pickup btw, ) and therefore the playing time pitch is out of the window. You guys aren't southern cal, you aren't going to be able to sign 2 five star RB's in the same class.

Thanks; I think Dyer is a fantastic pickup as well

However, we do have a shot with Lattimore. He visited for Ole Miss and really enjoyed his trip and his quotes after the game lead me to believe we have a good shot at him. In the end I think South Carolina will have the greatest chance though.

It doesn't hurt that Dyer has said he is in active communication with Lattimore to try and get him to attend Auburn to "tag team carries" as he put it.

I guess Auburn is every top RB in the country's favorite.Hopefully LSU can land one of their scraps.

Where did I even say that or anything close to that?

LSU has a really good shot with Seastrunk; and he is a great prospect. You need to chill out.

It's cool, I just really don't want to be mistaken for one our more... shall I say optimistic fans that happens to be a CPA, that thinks we will finish with the #1 class in the nation.

I do think we have a chance with Lattimore, which is surprising because a few months ago I thought Lattimore had completely cooled off on Auburn and that Seastrunk was all but on board. Things took a complete 180 so far

Eh, I appreciate most of Ross' posts. He's a reasonable and unbiased poster most of the time.

I agree. I also think LSU will not even be closde to getting Lattimore and Auburn got a GREAT pick up from Michael Dyer. I haven't said anything about Dyer's commitment yet and i wanted to express my feelings.

Ross, all I wonder is how the heck ya'll are getting these players. No offense, but ya'll have Dyer, with Reed looking very probable, and then you said Lattimore is a good chacne. I'm just wondering how ya'll are pulling these players out of their states. I'm not bashing, congrats to ya'll, but IMO it's just shocking that some of these kids want to go to Auburn so bad.

Any team with a class of Dyer, Reed, and Lattimore would be set up nicely for at least 3 years. I'm one of those that won't jump off a bridge if we lose Reed, because I think we have players that are just as talented in some sense. But I still believe he's a good and dynamic player that can contribute on a regular basis to a team.

an SEC school selling early PT to kids who want it. Not too hard to figure out. Ed O used it for a while, UT is also using it now. They can use Malzahn's history and sell them on "being the guys they want" to run this offense and then they'll take off

as for Lattimore....doubt it

I played his team the other night, They beat us 72-27 Lattimore looked like an NFL RB. He trucked our best LB 6 yards down the sideline, and broke tackles like no other. It's not like we're a bad team either 9-2 with our only other lose by 2 to the #2 team in the state. When we were shakin hands I said Marcus Lattimore good game man, shook my hand patted me on the head. I though about saying go to LSU. BTW UT is getting two FREAKS and DE in Miller and Willis. They call them the Tennesse Twins down here and they were freaks.

Lattimore is far and away the best back in the nation for LSU's offense. He could step in next week, if Les would play him, and do as good as any back LSU has right now. The kid is a physical freak that is ready to play NOW. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Another "know it all" piccalo player!
