I know it a high lite film but I didn't see anyone catch him from behind. He split would be tacklers and then left then behind with jock strap in hand. That's "jock strap Fast" and that's fast enough.

How did LSU get the upper hand on this kid.Did Georgia not make him a must get years ago? Just curious.
He was quoted in the article as saying that it was a dream of his to attend LSU. Enough said!
On the other hand, I am surprised that LSU does sign a larger number of players here than they do in Mississippi or Florida.
I hope LSU can make some inroads along the Alabama coast again.

i think he likes LSU and he's not a UGA type of back. he is an LSU type of back

but he reminds me of Cecil Collins in the way he runs.
this was the comparison i had when i saw his vids also, so don't fret

BTW, why was he playing in Texas Stadium? Was that Euless Trinity they are playing against? If so, that makes the first run even more impressive.

They were playing Mansfield Timberview in the Kirk Herbstreit classic. Timberview is a 4A school that made the playoffs but lost in the first or second round.

I thought the Herbstreit Classic was Cincy vs the US.

I thought so too, but I also thought they were playing Trinity so I looked up Buford's schedule to check.

Kind of a random set of teams. I might come over this year if they get the top teams to participate.

I'm not sure how you can draw that conclusion just based on that film. There are several instances where he was in a lower gear while he was looking for an angle or block in the secondary. When he got past his man, he hit the next gear. There were almost no clips of a DB catching him. If he is slower than 4.45 it's not by much.
Even if he's not that fast, what's better is he seems to fool guys into thinking he's slower. Many times the DB was taking a bad angle. I really like the combination of strong downhill runner and great field vision and quick feet in the open field. Makes him more versatile than Lache IMO.
Great pick up!
Great pickup, but I still think Lache is more versatile, JMO.

I read somewhere (maybe this board) UGA has tight numbers this year and they want Mack Brown.

His video reminds me of Alley just more shiftier and runs with the same tenacity

Me either, they should announce in the next week or so which teams will participate.

Guys that run 4.5's like he does and can cut without losing speed play way faster and can be "speed guys".

6'1" and 215 lbs in high school easily means 225 and faster by RSFr year. this is a great pick-up.
Maybe not top-end speed, but pretty shifty with good vision and power. Definitely has the potential to be an All-SEC back.
I dont see the Diesel comparisons, tho. To me, he looks more like Deuce Mcalister.

i guess this will be one of those "wait for it" bets that we make now and see the results in 4-5 years when he runs for NFL scouts
4.45: SFP picks the over
hell we almost never have guys leave LSU running 4.45s
Of course he's not 4.45. Still, he's not slow, like you've been insinuating in your posts. I'd say he's a legitimate 4.55, which is pretty doggone good for a kid that age who is about 215lbs.

without lots of speed
4.5 isn't fast for a powerback?

Not sure I agree, guess we'll see. Apparently, his dad doesn't like him splitting carries. Not sure why they would choose LSU if that was the case though.

woah, some Storm haters there, hope they are wrong.
