First time post so take it easy on me. I just wanted to know what happened with the recruitment of Storm Johnson. He appeared to be ready to commit in July, and then all of a sudden, LSU was no longer interested in him. I was wondering if anyone out there knew the reason why. Also what is up with the obsession of Lache Seastrunk? The kid doesn't seem to talk to the media much, nor does seem to take alot of visits (but I could be wrong on both accounts). IMO the reason we are so hot and bothered for this kid is because of what happened with Joe McKnight, and maybe were still not over that yet. If we get him, I hope we use him like Joseph Addai, he could run through the tackles and catch anything thrown near him. A great pass catching running back is a must have in the SEC. Just a thought, if I'm wrong on anything that I have posted I'm sure I'll be told. By the way ro all of Tiger Nation out there Merry Christmas from Kandahar, Afghanistan.

It looks like the staff preferred Ware over Storm as the power back for this class. Storm's decline on the recruiting sites would help this argument.

Apparently he transferred from his high school because he was upset that he wasn't getting enough carries and had a better statistical season in 2009.

Storm recruited LSU more than the other way around it seems. He was well down their wish list, possibly as low as 6th or 7th and they simply wanted to give several other rb's a shot. He tried to commit on his visit and basically got told, let's wait and see, which understandably ticked off his parents. At present the Tigers have two of the r.b.'s they had ahead of Storm and are yet in the running for 2 or 3 others who are all ranked higher than he. Wish him the best but some things just are not meant to be. LS was not even ranked as the best rb in his own district in HS. Hype is everything it seems. Michael Ford who redshirted this season could be a very special back for years to come. Merry Christmas to you cmeans24.

This writer beat the situation to death, and this was one of his final pieces.

Seemed like the staff offered a ton of backs, but then liked a couple more than others. They took Ware, and now just took Blue. With hopes still out for Seastrunk, and back up plans in place for the small, fast back in case things fall through, Storm just seemed to be out of the picture.

A lot has cleared up since then (last summer), so when Storm wanted to commit and LSU wanted to let their evaluations play out and then pick and choose, Storm was not on board.

This could be a huge mistake that we slow played him. He and his Dad drove from Ga. on his birthday to committ. He is 4 star kid at 6-1 217 with 4.5 speed. Yeh, they grow on trees.Ware and Gore better work out.

Most RBs have 4.5 speed according to recruiting services :sarcasm:

I was really looking forward to seeing Storm at LSU. I don't care why he left his previous school. He left 2A to play 4A and really represented with over 1900 yards rushing. Coach Miles should have gone and grabbed him back before Miami stepped in, but we'll be fine, but oh to see him run that ball for LSU.
